I have a friend who works at Taco Bell, and they get their pay deducted for things they had no control over. Example: If during a given week they have too many customers who ask to hold something, such as no tomatoes on a product, they get their pay deducted. If they get a customer who orders something and changes their mind, again pay deduction. If customers ask for water, again pay deduction. So stupid, how is this legal.
Is it legal? Even when I worked at a food joint a while ago they didn't do that.. and especially that it's Taco bell (not some low budget independant restaurant). This should definitely be looked into
I don't think its specifically all Taco bells since they are just franchises and under different management. But yes, this sounds really fishy... legal action may be done..
This is ridiculous, but if the workers agreed to this by signing a contract, not sure what you can do. But still you'll have to find out about this lol
That is not legal..However, I do not know what state or country you live in, so the laws may be different... Please, more info!
that would be just absurd if it was legal in certain states and not in others... so inconsistant... Hopefully and maybe there is a union at that Taco bell location..
I would report the case. I worked at a Subway once where things such as this were threatened on employees. I threatened the manager with legal action, and got it stopped. All you have to do is know your rights, and exert them.
Well thats the way it is with porn lol jk bad example.. Your right..I say quit the job it isn't really worth it.. you can get a job at Mc Donalds.. They just higher`ed minimum wage..
Mc donald's is one of the worst jobs I have ever seen someone work. Same with Hardee's. If you want to stick with the genre of fast food, Pizza Hut is a good one to work for.
Well with such deductions for something so silly, that makes it BELOW minimum wage.. which should be illegal. There are other minimum wages out there... but the job market is a tough place..
absolutely correct! you know your rights, just tell them that you don't want a pay cut because of these things that are beyond your control, make some awareness. fight for your rights
How could this be legal??? Anyway, I'd think that if the customer says to hold the tomatoes, the business would save a few cents, so maybe they sould reward their employees for this
