    Hi All

I am not Php literate, but I've successfully installed and am configuring a couple of PhpLD's

However, when I am trying to install the bid link script which is a bit popular now, I get a blank screen at the very first step.

    Are the instructions incomplete ?

Are there any other steps before installing ?

    Are the downloads complete ?

The ISP i use is extremely popular and common, phplink directory is running happily in a parralel hosting folder

So, why the blank screen ?

Do I have to learn PHP to run these directories ?

I am an ASP person, bu needs must, If I must learn php, thats what i must do

    Agggh

    Please help :)

The installation is just like any other php scripts....did you gave permission to file or folders...followed the instructions carefully?

Go back and go through the steps...maybe you might have miss one and sometimes thats the case.

    Hi

I am reasonably good with most scripts, even tho I am not php,

The instructions below are very short an succint, tis not possible to miss any steps, unles the steps are not there

    >>>>>Installing phpLinkBid

Installing phpLinkBid requires a PHP 4.x enabled server and MySQL. Basic knowledge of FTP and an FTP client will be needed to upload the software to your server.

Once you have successfully purchased phpLinkBid, you will receive an email containing download instructions. Follow those instructions to download the latest version of phpLinkBid to your computer in .ZIP format. Unzip the file on your desktop or somewhere easy to remember. You should now have a folder named phpLinkBid-x.x.zip (where `x.x` is the version number).

Using your favorite FTP client, upload the contents of the new folder to your Web server. Make sure you upload all files to the folder you want the site to run on. Usually this will be `public_html` or `htdocs`, but you can also upload the files to a subfolder or subdomain on your site.

Once all of your files have been uploaded, you must run the install script to complete installation. Load up your favorite browser and head to:
    http://www.yourdomain.com/install/

Make sure you replace `www.yourdomain.com` with the URL where you have uploaded phpLinkBid.

The installer will guide you through the rest of the process. Make sure you delete the `install` folder when complete.

Should the install folder have a config.php file ?

I ask because although there is a config.php file in the root, its got only about 30 lines, no reference to db path or name, or user or

there are no "extra" steps. If your having a difficult times installing, there are two guys who are willing to do it for you.

Since's you are able to install phpLD,then this shouln't be a problem.
