images versus web search google traffic

One of my websites had very little traffic from google (0-1 unique/day). A week ago it suddenly started to get traffic (30-50 uniques/day) from Google image searches.
Does this mean that I'll be improving SERP for web searches as well? or nothing to do?

    I just got it :)

I'm still trying to figure out what keywords do people use to find my pages

enter your url into google images and see what type of pics come up, you should be able to tell what people might be attracted to

That's pretty nice. I haven't had any Google Images traffic to any of my sites, unfortunately. Did you add titles or do anything special to your images?

Congrats on the traffic, i have the same experience here. I'm getting about 10k+ since last week. I wonder this will increase anything to my website.

first image to bring traffic had a relevant filename, and then others too, so I thought that was the key. Then other image to appear in the searches was called something like "gen03.jpg", so perhaps the context of the image is important as well.

Note for the occasional reader: If you know what drives SERPS in Google image searches and are chuckling at our ignorance, please enlighten us. ;)
