i really need to know how this is done. Is this done dynamically ? There is some guy who seems to have indexed LOTS (and i mean 1000s) of VERY SPECIFIC amazon products. Eg.i go to amazon and chose a RANDOM product name (EXAMPLE !) like "netgear wireless router D561 XRP". I enter "netgear wireless router D561 XRP" in google, and UP COMES a domain "netgear-wireless-router-d561-XRP.whatever.com" with the page with that product from amazon on it, and if you buy it it redirects you to amazon and the guy gets commission. I have no idea how this should work.....ESPECIALLY since this guy has a GOOD pagerank even for the weirdest products. Eg. i click on one of those products, and it comes up on 6th or 7th psotion on google on the first page. Does anyone have more pointers on the technical side how to do something like that ? thanks
Yes. If you can let know the exact keywords and the domain you are talking, then may be we can understand little better.
Something like this: http://www.seasonbuy.com/b-172514.html except this one uses the ASIN as the subdomain. This is often referred to as a wildcard dns for subdomains.
yup yup ya pc has been hijacked, and it is because you downloaded some crap like a screensaver or desktop pic, that most are hijacked with, you like a screensaver and click to download and accept the TOS and EULA without reading it, and they install search hijacking crap. time to clean your pc, and trust me, some are not easy to remove, they can even reinstall once you removed it, unless you disable the restore mode
Yes, you have been infected with some spyware because I just searched netgear wireless router D561 XRP and not one single product or page shows up...
people, i gave an EXAMPLE which didnt work... Here a REAL example..believe me..it works. Yes, that guy is amazon affiliate, but it does work, and that WELL Note: This is for Germany. Product: Canon CLI-8 ChromaLife Pack CLI-8 Bk, CLI-8 C, CLI-8 M, CLI-8 Y Tintenpatronen 50 Blatt PP-101 Fotopapier 10x15cm Copy that WHOLE string into google and go on google (you might want to go to google.de) And the FOURTH link on the first google page: canon-cli-8-chromalife-pack.bahnbilder.de/kauf/hardware/asin/B000F39N0U.html There is a domain with he product coming up ALL THE WAY right after amazon in google. Thats genius !!! (Be he a affiliate spammer or not, its genius how to do that) --------- other one: I go to total different category on amazon.de and randomly chose this mousepad: Belkin WAVEREST GEL Mauspad Copy whole string into google...search. this comes up: belkin-waverest-gel-mauspad.bahnbilder.de/kauf/multimedia/asin/B00000JRRD.html EXPLAIN !
I've seen this technique referred to as the "madlib technique". It basically uses MOD rewrite to spit out a page according to your keyword. But i thought in order for it to work, the search had to be first made on the actual site and stored, rather than google.
Would it make sense that this guy has scraped lots of amazon products and just created subdomains based on product names... Your example using canon chromalife pack isnt an exact match to search... He then must be using some script to redirect etc.. Very clever I must say....
