I think Googles next purchase will be RedHat and release a Google based Linux OS completed free to take on MS in its own game. :D

Funny. When I found out Microsoft was bidding for them, but they were opening up to other offers, I bet my co-worker Google would buy them. Google's been winning all the acquisition battles with Microsoft lately.

I posted it up http://www.ridiculouslyrandom.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=242 from BBC news.

It was wild, i didnt think they would spend 3.1 billion on a site after investing 1.65billion into youtube.

This time the company had to pay CASH, not just stocks.

One day, I just know they're going to announce the future release of a GoogleOS.

Think Microsoft are scared? I do. :p

$3.1 billion to make sure you own the majority of the market? I think they would have paid more.

I told you people, Google will not stop until they control everything...

The question is, what are they going to buy next ?

Rather expected since I doubt Microsoft would have won the chase for DoubleClick. Google got way more cash compared to Microsoft. I am wondering if DoubleClick is going to be integrated into Adsense or operate as an separate entity like YouTube. Google DoubleClick? That's quite a mouthful. haha!

Hmm. Google is quite aggressive in terms of its strategies.

They payed about a billion more than I was expecting. I thought DoubleClick would only go for around $2.2 billion to be honest. Big G must have wanted to make sure they clenched it. Who can blame them though? They're setting on a pile of cash and control the search market and ppc.
