My site 100% free to join, and just having the link directory software on your website is worth having. It will create a link directory using categories which you create, and it will blend right into your site by using a template file which is basically a blank page from your site. A special tag will slot in your links table for each category page. The Link-Exchangers.com directory is growing, and while there aren't yet thousands of sites, keep in mind that you'll receive link requests from people who are browsing your website and completing your fill in form there as well as link requests from members in the LE directory. It's much easier to exchange links with the advanced membership. The advanced membership comes with the helpful backlink checker so you can moniter your links, and hide or delete links in your directory that stop linking back to you. You just select all your links and then click a button and the site will look out into the internet at all your links and let you know which are still valid. There are other features as well, and one way links are coming soon... so stay tuned. :> Also in the works very shortly is the ability to merge your existing links pages with your Link-Exchangers links. You'll just upload the source code of your existing links pages, and the site will do the rest. The requirements for the site are 1 mysql db, php, and remote access to mysql. If you want the FREE upgrade, it's best to send in a support ticket, unless you have installed these types of programs before. Yes, it looks like the same thing. It does the same thing and actually has some things his site doesn't have like the ability to restore you database should you ever have a problem with it. It will also have one way links soon. And this site will have an affiliate program as well. We're not quite ready for that yet, but the affiliate site is all done. People will be able to make money with the site.

Hi JoyGoRound. Remote access means that your webhost will allow a remote computer to access your mysql database. The way you would enable this most of the time is by adding our IP address to your list of access hosts. The cPanel software lets you do that. Link-Exchangers.com needs to communicate with your database so it can add categories and links to your database as you go along.
