I'm reading up on this whole 'bum marketing' method, and the basis behind it is article writing and submission. Does this stuff still work?
I've said this time and again: article marketing is my prime form of advertising, and for good reason. The vast majority of my backlinks are from article submissions. Not just from the links I get from directories, but because people take my articles and republish my articles, increasing my backlinks exponentially. Also a lot of my articles still hold the #1 position for the keywords I targeted, so that can bring me even more traffic indirectly from the search engines.
i have used bum marketing for affiliate programs with good results i have recently been using squidoo.com because you don't have to write a whole article just a couple of words and you can use links in the content plus the search engines like it just as much ezinearticles. the problem with bum marketing is there are so many people doing it finding keywords can be hard in some niches... lucky 4 me i found a way to outrank them
Don't submit articles to article directories, submit them as references or how2 to relevant web sites. .If you are good at css you can submit your articles to alistapart.com, for instance. How may times have you seen articles listed in article directories shown in Google search? Cheers
Article marketing works a dream, if you know what you're doing! Here are a couple of things that have worked for me: -Make sure the title contains the keyword phrase -EzineArticles.com is considerably better at achieving top rankings in google and providing you with non SE traffic than any other directory. -Squidoo is a winner, create a lens it will bring you big traffic through great rankings in google. See my lens at www.squidoo.com/wall-mounted-fountains[/URL] for an example -The resource box is key and needs to be well thought through to "get the click" -Going for a targeted niche linked to an affiliate program is a great strategy. For example I've written three articles on golf swing linked to an clickbank product about golf swing. Good conversion -The Bum marketing approach works....if you're willing to put in the effort All please keep adding to my list above....let's see if we can make a really comprehensive list of what works and what doesn't.
I use articles for my own site and it is doing well in backlink count i also have provided article submission for over 200 clients so i can tel you it is still popular.
Although bum marketing is a little different than normal article marketing, both still work. However, outside of bum marketing, I highly suggest offering unique articles to specific sites (not article directories) to encourage them to run your article. Just one of those alone can bring in 100+ visitors a day from some sites easily, yet people often overlook that. Brian
in a word, yes. but nowdays original contents is important so copy paste articles have less effect than they used to
