How is that? http://www.dbestdir.com/Directories/ All types of strongest directories will be listed their --my measurement parametres will be link-strength. I could create as my sub-blogs as I want with this script--so I'll over all --Premium Paid /Deep Links/Free/Niche etc. etc. --but it will be really hard work-- need 10-15 days time --to list atleast 50 directories in each category --but I think it will be worth it.
Some markets are not for everybody chris. Alot of these will not make the cut mainly because they really do not plan on promoting it they just want to get what they can out of it then move on to the next big thing. And there is nothing wrong that I guess, but for those who do that leave a bad name on the market. Kinda like what we have now with all the other directories floating around, some are great, but most are just taking up space. I'll be honest and say that I was close to buying a link on big web links but the cost has seemed to sky rocket, great for you, bad for me. I do know that you are promoting that directory very well, for I have seen it in a few unexpected places where I just got some links from not to long ago, did'nt think anyone knew about those. Either way, I do wish the best of luck to all that have gotten in on this. I'll check back in a year and see how many are still around and doing well.
Well you said it yourself, some will die-out and some are just there testing the waters and others being being oppotunistic and the very few like Mystickmedia,Rob,Malcolm, etc,.. will survive. I cannot tell what the forecast for the queen, but I am passionate to see her rise somewhere above the middle ground, unless I could find better way of promoting her without alot of moolas then I will and i'm sure those with a directory will do the same.
One thing to keep in mind with this niche is that you don't have to be on the homepage if it gets to be more than you're interested in paying. The category placement is usually available at a considerably lesser price. So, you can be listed on a page that's one step from the homepage for a lot less, and the categories will still have very good PR and seemingly good to very good traffic too with a few of them.
Vey good point Chris, that is why I went and submitted the Queen and she is not far from the homepage. I cannot afford the $$$ that is going on the the Frontline, but I know or anyone with a half-a-brain would know that being close to the front page will be just effictive aswell, it beats being on this type of structure---->www.somesite.com/webdirectory/paid/alpha-a/mysitehere.com. That's 3 levels deep. Thanks! for the compliment There are many ways, there are people who never spent a dime and yet rank well, but it is always better with moolas$$$
Exactly. Think of it like you would other directories when this is the case. It's like being in the top-level Internet category, which requires a featured listing for many directories. So, for some time it will be a good bit more affordable even.
Hmm,that's why I just submitted to those dirs like http://www.bigweblinks.com/ and never bid for higher position.Getting listed is enough for me. I agree with you! Like general directory owners, some just set it up and want to earn some quick bucks.....but they never promoted it though they said they would...the worse thing i've seen is that they cheat people..bidding on their own site's....anyway,i believe they will die out soon....from this thread,we'll know who are doing what they said and who aren't.
Just letting everyone know that skephi.com price is changing to min 10$ bid next month. I would suggest to get your links while they are still 1$ per link. I'm listing in the bigweblinks.com top 20 and hoping to get back on the front page asap. http://www.bigweblinks.com/Web-Directories/Web-Directories2.asp
Are you keeping the list updated? Seems like it would be a hard job since they probably all change frequently. Take a look at this to see what I was talking about good category placements: Page 2, Page 3, and Page 4 all have PR4 too (page 5 did not exist at the time the PR snapshot occurred). Of course, if you want to get the best traffic, you'll want to be on Page 1 (PR5), but the secondary pages are very good for regular listings for those who are not looking to bid for the best placements.
