Until now my router was connected to a USB 1.0 port. Now I added a USB 2.0 PCI card and I was wondering will I have faster downloads if I change it and place it at the USB 2.0?

If it's USB 1.0, you'll notice a difference. But why not just connect to your computer's ethernet port instead?

Yes, it's much better to use Ethernet port, less troubles, and no need to install any driver.

As for USB, max speed of USB 1.0 is 1.5 Mbps, and USB 1.1 is 12 Mbps, and USB 2.0 is 480 Mbps. This is only theory, the real speed is less.

My mobo requires a driver. Last time I installed a new Windows (on both pc's at the same time) I had to use my parents pc for the drivers. So usb looks faster to me (no usb drivers here.)

Just save yourself the hassle and boost your speed even more by using ethernet.

Strange, I've never heard of that. But I still think that Ethernet is better, after all, it's made exactly for network connections :)

Downlaod time wouldn't differ, as that previous USB 1.0 modem had enough speed to manage your downloads. Indeed this is your connection problem

No, it will not take any memory, and it will not slow your computer either.

By the way, what is the speed of your Internet connection ?

Yes, there will be a difference for USB 1.0, not for all cases though.
