MySpace friend adding site - over $40/rev last month

Hey everyone. I have decided to sell of my myspace friend adding website MyFriendAdds.com. The site was started in early January and has shown an increase in both traffic and revenue on a month to month basis. This site is well on it's way to being one of the more popular myspace friend adding site's on the web. Here's a little about the site.

I purchased this script from a friend of mine. He had the site custom coded from one of his coder's and I payed exactly half of what he did, roughly $200 and some odd dollars in total. The site has alot of good feature's to it to help prevent cheating and abuse.
random number in bulletins - The script has a random number generator which adds random numbers to bulletins. This helps prevent the bulletins from being filtered.
admin block feature - The script also has a small admin panel making it very simple to block users and set/unset VIP memberships
no adds until login - No user has the ability to add friend's until they are logged in. This keeps the points system accurate and makes it impossible for anyone to add or view the member's until they have logged in with their friend ID.
friend's disapear once added - Once a member has added a friend, that friend will be hidden from them once the page is refreshed so there is no adding member's more than once, this also helps greatly in preventing cheating.

Basically here is how the site works. You visit MyFriendAdds.com and enter your friend ID. Once logged in, you can either add friends for 1pt each, post a bulletin and earn 50pts for every friend who signs up under your link, or add a banner to your profile and earn 50pts for every member who signs up under you (this method also helps greatly for link popularity)

Member's with the most points appear on the first page, getting them lots of friend requests. However, the points are reset on a daily basis giving anyone the chance to be on the first page on any given day. Points are stored in total making it possible for member's to be on the "Top Posters" list..getting them even more friend requests. The site offer's two types of VIP memberships; 1.95 for 1day or 4.95 for 7 days. The new owner can choose to raise or lower these as they wish.

As you can see alot of time and work has been put into this site. I must admit I haven't done much work on it lately other than link exchanges. The site has been making steady earning for the past month and a half with little work done by myself.

Domain is registered through GoDaddy and hosting is through HostGator (Good till 1/2008)

As for why I'm selling the site..I'm in need of the money and would like to invest some into a new project of mine.

I am starting the bidding at $350 which I see being very fair for the site. Considering I have put between 200 and 300 dollars into the scrite and hosting, plus the revenue it's made so far..I would say this is a more than fair price. Are you sure thats why you're selling it? or is it because you're affraid of getting into myspace legal trouble. I know all the myspace friend adders are down!

 

hmm they are? I am sorry but I was not at all aware of that. I noticed one of the largest site's, tonsofadds.com is still up? Could you please post a direct link for that information?

And how do you know this? Before you make claims that can damage a potential sale, please take the time to do a little research. Have a few adders been shut down? Yes. Have the all been shut down...No.

 

Thank you for your bid EGS and I have to side with rzvagelsky on this one. Netpox, I did do a simple search on Google and yes I did come up with 2 friend adding site's that were down. however, I also came up with about 4 other ones that were up. On top of that, if these site's were to be getting shut down I would think they would go for the biggest one's first..Including friendstorm, tonsofadds..etc..yet, none of these are shut down..If you do have some sort of URL stating that these site's are being banned for some reason please share as I am unaware of anything like that. I have decided to set a BIN for $600 on the site. That is roughly 10x monthly income plus a little for script, hosting, link exchanges, age of site, domain..etc. Thanks for your interest and PM's everyone

Well you failed to mention in your sales pitch that you'd sold copies of the script and design.

I hope your buyer is aware of the fact is all.

 

Just to clear things up, this site does indeed have a permanent lifetime license to my script.

 

Read the full post before you go opening your mouth next time. I stated in the first post that I purchased this site from a friend who had it coded. I haven't sold any copies of this. I bought it from the Raithe, the owner of friendfrost and have used it only on this site. He just posted to clear that up
