How can I improve my english?

Hello all DP expert english,

Im malay, talk in malay , but when I enter the international forum like DP , I must use english , when I speak to other like Chinese, I must speak English (indian also) but I don't know what the best way how to learn english using internet. well, I never go out to play with my friend, my friend is my pc , ps2, tv and story book.

Last exam PMR(Lower Secondary School Exam) I got B . I have start learn English for seriously on standard 6 (UPSR)

So any one can help me? I'm really appreciated your help.
On November 2007 I have SPM.

for learning english, i would suggest to read as much english books as possible. also try listening bbc world as a regular rutine, and do watch some english films, not the ones dubbed in your language!

Your English really doesn't look too bad to me. Better than my Malayan, that's for sure!

 

Your English is ok, it will be improved with time. It will be a good idea to join any institute solely based for English learning.

 

Just keep reading from well written blogs and it will come to you. If your aim is to improve your pronunciation, then you will have to find some native English speakers to chat with.

There are ways, google search english lessons. Or get an english learning book at a local book store imo

 

Also try to read english magzines and newspapers.

Honestly, the best way is to come to the US or another country with a "standard" accent.
That's how I learned the language.

 

Watch movies.

 

In my opinion there is hardly any better way to improve english language skill than participating in the discussion at different webmaster forums. It helps me a lot

The best way for you to learn English that wouldn't cost any money would be to get a Skype account, and search for people that are available for chat and call them and talk to people that speak English and are willing to help you.

I think it is best for you to start speaking and writing in English. Initially it will be full of mistakes, but the more you go on, you will learn yourself. Chatting is also a good way.

 

i am chinese. and my english is not so good.
but i think that DP is a good place to practise your english.

at the very beginning, i always get embarrassed as i did not know how to express my opinion, but now, i could talk more easily.

Reading and listening is not enough because you are not using English. You really have to talk to other people and write a lot.

 

hey, your english is pretty good, no worry on that. I guess to improve on it is to get talking with some other people. You will learn how to interact better.

 

My English teacher tell me, my English like standard 6 not like form 5(SPM) . .
