I have one site now, and that is enough to keep me busy at the moment. :)

It doesn't matter whether it is 1 site or 100 sites as long as you have the time to promote them. You will always get a result by putting in a good effort over a period of time (4-6 months).

Unless you are targeting the really hard keywords then I am almost confident that linkbuilding over a period of 6 months will bring you enough traffic for you to make a decent income (sure you need to target a keyword that people are searching for).

Where most people fail is that they try for 2-4 weeks and then give up and move on to the next project. (IMHO)

But this is better for adsense that launch more sites use adsense on each except main site
Use adword for main site. All expenses will recover from earning of adsense

Agreed. Create few websites with your interested topics will do. One sharp knife is enough to kill ...

Less is more, as the old saying goes.

I've thought about setting up a ton of Adsense sites, but I'd rather work on smaller numbers and give them more attention.

Yeah, it's good to have 100 sites - but useless if they are not getting any traffic. I would start with 3-4 sites and then once they are getting enough traffic to pay for themselves, then grab another few and gradually build your sites up. Aim for maybe one a month - and make sure that you get good backlinks and everything SEOed before you move onto the next one.

I keep my sites down to about 5 - 6, this way i can promote each site effectively and get descent traffic to my sites.

I have just launched a site about 2 months ago and I am getting about 2000 uniques per month.

a few k$ for one site
    a few hundred k$ for 100 sites ??
i never would have time to wisely spend that much $ !
there is a point when greed starts to kill your heart !!

    live and let live
others too love to have some web space left to breath and prosper
