It seems like all the sites I see on here are from like 10th level black belts in web design. I, unfortunately, feel like the only person who is somewhat of a web design noob. Does anyone out there have a cheap site and still make some money?
I do have websites in which I haven't invested much time, design and programming wise. Yet. they are making me some money, too. So if you are thinking to start a website, go ahead. It's normal to take one step at a time and start with a poor website, there's always space for improvement.
Trial and error. Read up on some stuff online and you will get the hang of it. I was in the same position once.
if you're new, a good way to start is to setup a blog. They're pretty easy to setup, and wordpress let's you do it for free. If you have a targetted niche, you can easily sell posts on your blog for a $1 a piece. Most people will buy a permanent link from any website within for nice for a buck. It's a good way to start and introduce yourself to the field.
i make money from websites and blogs, and blogs are a very good way to make money from adsense, especially blogspot which is already optimized for adsense in it's own way. not only this, but i find that new blogspot blogs are indexed in google in three days or less.
lol they r many guys here who earn from free google bloggers just setup one and fill with good content
I agree, people are putting out tons of crap sites, but making big bucks. On the other hand I have seen just the opposite. I personally think it's best to be somewhere in the middle as many of the crap sites will probably get there accounts banned if they aren't careful.
