Rob I cannot believe you have done this, you have just changed the terms of your directory but retrospectively applied them, thats no on. I've wasted all that time submitting? Come on, be reasonable. The minimum bid was $1 when I submitted so I expect them to stay.

Now it is no different than any other paid directory ... except you can pay more if you want. ;)

The concept is really simple ... let the market decide what your links are worth.
I am not sure why you need to apply a minimum bid ....

If the link is worth whatever you are asking then people would bid that much to get it. Sounds like you are losing faith in your directory.

I am confident enough in my own abilities that I can offer free listings.
If I do my job well those sites want to be part of my directory. :)

Yup, Rob is wrong to do that tonight and I'm peed off. A minimum bid is his choice, its his directory but my links were live and they've been deleted. Not on.

It's like I said and had ALREADY mentioned it in my post there was going to be a minimum bid of $10.

It's not my fault that people wait till AFTER I say what I have on it and what else I will be aiming to get that they want to rush in for a $1.

I tell you what, when any of you want to pay what I've put into it out of my OWN pocket, which is x,xxx, THEN, and only then, can you dictate my rules on the directory.

You can hate me for it or you can love me for it. I can handle either way. Like I said, IF the bids were at least 5 little bucks, I would have left it be, like I did let wwws's stay in there. But come on, 1,2,3 bucks... this isn't one of the hundreds that popped up recently. This one has life after death because i always have Ideas.

Hey, I can understand your frustrations, but it was said BEFORE you went to bid. And that is the bottom line.

    @rtchar

you run yours your way, i'll run mine my way.

No anon the bottom line is what your directory says when I submitted, it said 1 dollar not 10. Saying youd accept 5 is just arbitrary beyond the realms.

Im not difficult, you just deleted my valid links that I spent time and money submitting.

Are we going to fall out

In all fairness to Rob, you paid nothing and you got nothing. So, you don't really have standing to complain.

Rob made a small error initially. When he noticed it, he quickly and promptly corrected it and informed everyone.

No we aren't going to fall out.
The links were deleted and you WERE REFUNDED as I said I did.

It's moot at this point, unless you want to continue to bitch and nag about it, but you are welcome to resubmit and I would accept the 5 submit that i allowed wwws to get through with.

What error did he make? He made no error, he offered links starting from 1 dollar. He changed his mind, links from then on have to fit the rules, not before. Are we not behaving fair and like gentlemen?

I think this is not the final time that Rob will raise the price as he is infact pouring in a huge amount of money to get it in high rank. @$10 is still quite reasonable if you think about it. So maybe it might be a good idea to submit one now as it could be a litle bit diffrent later...only he knows this.

Bigweblinks is a very good place to submit for less than $30 you can get a nice little real estate in there, I did for $32 bucks:D I might see the price at $49.95 pretty soon if I follow the trend right, so I will try to submit another.....later.

Thanks for the steal Rob, er...deal I meant:D If you want to submit a site at www.searchtified.com do so and don't pay as a thankie.

A little strange. I don't see any way to bid above what it inputs. So, whoever bits last is just on top. Not really bidding on that one...

I think you're missing the point. Its not about value, I know its good value. The point of these directories is the supply and demand will fix the price.

THE POINT is that I submitted valid links and they've been deleted, thats just bollox.

I would jump on this while he's in the mood. Glad I got in. I know the value of this link bid dir...quite a value for $5 or even $10 but i'm a cheapo, but I would have submitted it for $10 anyways which is still a bargain even specially at this point.

In all honesty, i think $10 bucks is fair. I've no plans on raising the price. I just took the submit away for now, until I can peer into the code to see about adjusting it properly.

    go look at www.bigweblinks.com #5 ;)

thanks for the kind gesture. if i get time tonight I'll let you know beforehand.

Hang on a minute, maybe Chris should refund all the link buyers on Alive directory because they got them too cheap and he now thinks they should pay 150 dollars a link. Well they may be worth that, so he can change the price. But delete all existing links first? Nah, thats not on.

Agreed changing names is good. But does the system name sense? Make A category = Arts and make D category = Directories and so on.

I submit Alive Web Directory .. but still it will move to the so called Arts category! Why goes ? , Internally the Link title starts from A.

The name changing doesn't make sense to me. Better to make or get done a custom script like chris did or keeps using the same by changing names but still Alive goes to Arts not Directories. :)
