    What else did he say? The only quote I have seen was definetly lame, could be called racist, but bigoted? It seems that the word bigot comes out as a natural response of liberals, so it doesn't actually have to fit.

    While I agree the joke went too far I do not believe he should resign because Senator Bird and Jesse Jackson has said worse and they did not aplogize and yet no one calls for them to step down from their position.
