Guys, guys. Can I make a suggestion please to the last 3 posters and to anyone else who is making a similar announcment. Don't just list your bid directory url, instead, tell us what's unique about it, why it deserves merit, why we should even look at it. If its got great backlinks then tell us. If its got good alexa then tell us, if its got PR then tell us. All I am seeing is no PR, no alexa data, no good backlinks, identical sites, no css modification, nothing uniquely done to it. We are all in trouble if we dont contribute something individual to our directories. Please listen. Cheers, S.
It's a new thing, so most of us just started. Changes will be more apparent, just give it a little time. I know what I am able to do, and I wouldn't make any kind of claim if I was not sure of it. Almost all of us will miss this PR update, so we are all aiming for July, August.
Well i could be mean, but I will keep my mouth shut and just let time show us. I think there will be a lot of these directories looking exactly the same in 3 months, complete with low or no pr, the ubiquitous page errors, the same blue tiles, and just 2 links in the directory. Even if your directory is new like my 3, I think you should be able to say what you have done to make it worth consideration of peoples link buying funds. Of course yes that does assume one has done something to add value rather than just upload a script. Good luck with yours. S.
I didn't mean to offend you but I do think the default template looks better then the one on http://www.seodollar.com/ .JMO.
I'm not offended, that's just your opinion and not one I share! Apart from the aesthetics, I'm actually doing something and adding value, which I think shows by the success to date. I just don't like to see a new era of link farms looming, it will be bad for us all. S.
I just did add something to the details page on my bid directory... http://www.livelykeywords.com/link/8.html What are the other things needed to be added in you opinion, guys? Will be do a little bit on the design soon.. No problem! And best of luck with your sites,S.!
It looks good, except for its looks Are there any templates for this yet, or we need to do it ourselves, or hire a coder?
I have my site linked right off DirectoryDump, have 3 PR7's on it, a few 5's about 7-8 PR4's a few PR3's and PR2's a few PR 0's and it now has a brand new home Residing on www.bigweblinks.com (find it)
Yes anon, nice work, thats how to do it . And I know you know my comments are not for you Roll on August hey, be interesting to see when the snapshot was for this months update, some of us might get some toolbar on this one. Cheers, Steve
Very nice Anon, I should have submitted my link on top of http://www.bigweblinks.com/. Instead I chose to donate to DP ($501) It has been almost two months, still no link on the donate page But of course, I did not do it for the link So...just kidding... I did the right thing Heck I will submit to bigweblinks as well, as soon as I get my paycheck.
Just trying to show some effort in it. None of the initial bidding has been used thus far from what it had originally received. This is all out of my pocket, and I only have a few hundred left until i go into the reserves from what was made on bids. And that's when the PR8's are coming. >=) I'm thinking about setting a default bid of 10$ because that's where I actually start my bids on every one of these sites that had been announced till Sunday(when i stopped), for both www.directorydump.com AND www.webdirectorybid.com. I have easily blown x,xxx already. And don't get it twisted. I am not rich, nor do I have a large bankroll. I'm a poor SOB. I think it'll be fair from a promotion standpoint. Want in to see where it goes, then $10 is a minimal bid. edit: and of course the fricken pagestrength tool is BROKEN again. no surprise.... sigh.
Thanks for the warning....submitted one before the price increase LMAO!!!(evil) .....That is insane...the bids looks almost like Bigweblinks glad I save a few bucks even if it meant being in the cellar
I think some are forgetting about the categories. Sure it's great to be on the homepage, but if you want to get in (like other directories), you can bid less and be listed on page 1 of a category, which is only one step from the homepage. If you later decide you'd like to move to the homepage, you can always increase a bid then.
i'll let those slide(they were at least 5 bucks), but everything else after yours, which was oh about 15-18 are getting refunded. I actually had to kill the submit for it they started coming in so fast.
Hey, that was mostly me I guess. I hope you dont refund me, I spent a lot of time submitting to your directory and I wouldnt be too impressed. Cheers, Stev
I actually just refunded you and all the others. I don't mean to be a downer on you or anyone else, but if the bids were at least 5 bucks, I would have let them settle and stay, even though I said the minumum would be 10. As far as being impressive, i'm not trying to impress, i am just trying to promote, don't take it the wrong way.
And it is clear that bidding directories with categories are better than the ones with letters. A page with different types of links and not focusing on a single or only a few subjects may not mean much things to Google. Simply let's think a page "a.html" and "webdirectories.html", even the page names explain this. Categorization is much more useful for SEO.
