For the past 1 year - I haven't been able to study I go to class - do my java classes, do my php homeworks, all the teachers love me - but inside - I know - that I haven't been studying. now that exams are NEAR .. TOMOROW .. i am here .. installing phpLD 2 ( free :S ) .. managing wordpress, submitting to directories, posting in DP, viewing art in dA , searching for AR Rehman music .. Swearing at a guy in DP who says Bangladesh won by accident . . .and doing a LOT of things which are NO FKING WHERE RELATED TO MY STUDIES ! I have my book and its PDF version open right in front of me :| i even took GPRS internet connection on my K750i and i end up browsing the net in public places, buses, relatives house .. aaaaaaaaaaa HOW CAN I GET RID OF ALL THESE SHITTTZ ??? well not shitz really ..i have been earning a lot ( maybe among the top net-earners from my country ) but that doesnt count for education.. .. how can i help myself ? any suggestions ? P.s - do u suffer from the same shit ?
Lol i quit stressing myself over school a lot time ago i am working developing business trying to make more money afther all afther this shit (school) ends ypou have to have your money so why bother qith something useless stay calm your building your future / school is for pepople who are afraid or search excuses
same is my case! because of the reputation and the working knowledge, no teacher tells me to do the homework or anything! but i know the studies are not going properly. i don't really say all this is shit, am making nice money and am pretty much happy, and so is everyone else on dp!! but the fact remains, study is getting hampered. and i don't know what to do. from today, i will start my studies again, try to clear some subjects this time! hope everything goes fine!

you need to choose, studies or websites. If you are sure that you can generate a good income from your websites, then stop studies and focus 100% to websites, you will have more time, you will earn much money starting from now. Anyway, if you earn good money from websites, when you will finish college or whatever you do now, you will still managing websites, you will not get a job. If you want, and you can get a good paying job after you finish studies, sell the websites. In the way you do things now, you will not be an excellent programmer. Probably you want to finish your college, but you still want to have a good income, you can do this too, but you must choose a priority, when the exam period is coming, just leave the websites, only the neccesary, max 1 hour/day. For exams you need more relaxations, you can't work on websites in the breaks.
I know how you feel. I'm suppose to do clients work and well...I'm messing with phpld and everything else internet related until 3am. oh and I have a new baby, so I know how you feel. It's pretty addictive. I have to say though that you just have to do what you love in life. If studying is not for you and you're better at other things, then I'd say go for it. Some people who are successful in life are the ones who are motivated and goes after what they want, but doesn't necessarily need a degree. College only offer foundations for some stuff, but you learn more doing real life things. Don't blame me later though for any decision you make haha...it's just from what I've learned and though I have a degree, my field looks for examples you've done in the real world (porftolio) and it's more visual than if someone looks and say oh look, she graduated from such and such. In some cases, you can't learn certain things in school...such as SEO, you just have to do it. I took an SEO class online for fun and I knew more than what they offered.

SEO classes ? hehe ..in my class, when they tell me about Search Engine i look at them and smile and not say a thing : ) theDark -- Tough decision, isnt it ? I am making money - but it isn't really much. I can stop studying and improve these things and increase my knowledge about the topics I write/work for. But this would leave me at my current status. Whereas, I can finish my BSc and MIS and maybe a PHD one day and be Eligible for Easy-Cash ( thats what i call those damn office jobs heheeh ) This is the main reason why I try to keep the study up - plus a lot of money is spent after studying - if i dont get good results - i feel bad for myself and for the cash being wasted this way : ( .. An answer that I was expecting but fearing .. discipline is what i lack .. but i dont believe discipline works in these SEO and internet cases - where there is no limit to what can really be achieved . . for example : that night i found 2 great domain names.. so i worked some sh!t and made around $15 and got them :$ MITCHARR and UTTORANSEN hehe ..its in a PDF as well as a real text book .. but i prefer reading da PDF - habits .. i got some great java books in the PC which i never even open. the only PDF i open are the gaming magz, design magz n Private Magazine TOBY --- Thanks Toby .. its really been a while i haven't prayed .. w3bmaster -- its really hard -- doing it all together .. but i guess this is the only way things are gonna work for a while .. i might leave everything else for a month n study for the big exams :$
Darkcrunk, Learn to do one thing at a time and do it best, if you are not doing best stop doing it. Remember exams are only for 5 days and calculate the lose. If you fail entrance exam, without studying for 5 days, you might lose around 50K down the road so one day worth around 10K so do the math and find out which one is profitable. Go towards it hope that helps
VERY hard for me too. If your school work can be done with a pencil/paper (e.g. studying), then just pack up and sit in a park somewhere. Make it IMPOSSIBLE to get online. That's what I used to do when I was in school.
heheh Anita Let me tell you how i come online .. I plug my k750i and dial in .. GPRS 6 KBps .. Sucks - but does the work. Since i disconnected my LAN a month back. In a park - i will end up running Mig33 and chatting up with buddies Anyway - i m gonna leave the gprs soon and get back to the lan .. a little expensive - but worth it actually .. thanks everyone : ) have fun
