I have a question, assume that you have a website with PR 0, and someone with PR 6 gives you a link to your site , What will be you new PR?
Take a look at http://www.smartpagerank.com/pagerank-calculation-chart.php . I go by that chart for a general idea. Though no one really knows the exact number, this gives a pretty good idea.
I am all confused with formulas and calculations, I need an average value, I am considering to buy PR6 links...
i know you are confused! so here is the easy way to know! if a pr4 site has just one outgoing link, then that link is more important than a pr8 site with a thousand outgoing link!! but then simply put, a pr6 link will take a pr0 site to atleast pr3+ that you can expect!!
OMG That's great!, Thanks for answering, I have just one question too, when will the page ranks be updated? Is there a monthly update?
1 PR6 link, if there are fewer than 50 or so links on the page, will probably give you a PR3. 10 good PR6 links would give you closer to a PR5, and 100 good PR6 links would give you a PR6. Those are approximations based on what I've seen for sites I've run or been a part of.
oh 100 PR6 links , that will take too much time and money for me to build that 100 pr6 links... Everything ok but one question left, Are there monthly periodically updates? Or yearly?
PR is updated daily on Google's servers, but updated ~quarterly on the toolbar. You can only see the quarterly update. If you see yourself getting more traffic from Google, it probably means your PR is creeping up as well.
I have recently been submitting to directories using directory maximiser, however it seems they submit to low ranking pr sites ( pr1 or pr0) does this mean my pagerank will not benefit from those submissions ? Also there is a thread on here where someone will submit to 500 pr4 and above directories very cheaply. Is it advisable to only submit to sites with greater pr or are directories 'bad' due to the number of outgoing links on each page ? I am new to all this and wondered, is time and money better spent on 'quality' sites ?
This is definitely confusing and seems a 'catch 22' situation. Can you increase pr by increasing traffic to your pages ? Do you need more quality inbound links to gain traffic from search engines like google ? How do you increase your pr by increasing traffic if google doesn't get you near the top of search results because there are sites with better pr ? Is it really possible to increase your own pr by simply having one quality inbound link ? Is pr calculated by visitors and inbound links ? Where do keywords come into ‘play’ ? If the above are the main aspects of pr is there any other factors in increasing visitors and pr rather than 'buying' them' ? To reiterate Bozdemir if any one could explain 'the system' or point us in the right direction it would be a great help, I have looked at the wikipedia explanation and this sheds a little light but not really the answers.
