Adsense ads should not be the same colour text as your website, at least that what I thought. You can have the same backgroung colour, but text should not be similar incase the site visitor clicks on adsense thinking its part of the website content? I have wanted to use google ads using similar style and colour to the text on one of my websites but have refrained against it for fear of getting banned. Take a look at Billboards Google Ads, surely this breaks the rules, if not, why not? http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/charts/chart_display.jsp?g=Singles&f=The+Billboard+Hot+100
The ones at top? They look absolutely fine to me, clearly telling the visitor they are ads, even if they blend into the site so well. The ones at bottom? No issue there either, I see no intention of fooling the user to click on them thinking they were something but ads.
Thanks Clive. I have sent you a PM. Appreciate you clearing it up. I will be less cautious from now on!
Thanks to all. Now I appreciate that using adsense ads that seemlessly blend into your website are much better than those that contrast sharply.
Yeah they have tons of links everytime you log in to adsense that tell you about blending colors with your site. That's like one of the #1 recommendations in there telling you to make your colors match your theme. They call it 'monetization tips' or something. I always set the text color of adsense to the same as my link colors.. otherwise my site would look stupid.
