93% CTR because I have stupid friends

Ok...I am pretty scared right now. My friends all just decided to be assholes and click the living shit out of all the google ads on my site. After that they come on MSN laughing their asses off cause of what they did. I have a 93% CTR for today!! Previously it was at a normal 4-6%. What can I do to prevent getting banned? I'm quite pissed off right now. Some friends.

tell google. (Tell them you suspect fraudulent clicks; not that your friends did it)
    Take down the ads.

They will probably credit back those fraudulent clicks.

If it's a fairly new site I would just take it down and start over. Don't tell those guys about the new site.

Trust me you want to stay on Google's good side by all means.

Tell your friends that Google has banned you and that you lost $500 because of it.

Just email google saying you have a big CTR increase that you have never seen before and ask if they could check for fraud.

Well I would email google and explain the situation but I don't think you should mention that your friends are the ones who did this.

I learned this lesson when I launched a proxy (when I was 16): Do not tell your friends about any website you start!

You will find yourself much less stressed out about AdSense.

Agreed, you should email google and let them know about the unusually high CTR. During a click attack a few months ago (not my friends) my CTR went up to around 70%. What was interesting tho was that the CPC went way down. I don't think many of the clicks were even counted. I removed the ads and emailed google. They said they would look into it and that was it.

    @ v3rtical
I think they did not count because Google has some sort of way to track how many times the link is clicked, who clicked it, and how long it has been between clicks. It they find something fishy, they are discarded. I cant remember where I heard this though.

lol, this has happened to me before too, my friends were amazed at how I was making money at my age, and when I told them I placed Google Ads in my site, they tried to "help" me by click-bombing my site (Even though their intention was to make me more money, that was the worst thing they could do for me). After that I installed Adlogger and decided not to tell anyone about this Google ADsense thing.
aah, well dont worry, i had emailed google about it too, that very day, telling them that i doubted click fraud (I never mentioned about my friends), and everything went smoothly from then on.

Not to reveal adsense sites to your friends or relatives, some people got jealous of your earnings and can easily do things like this...

Good advice. Just tell G that you suspect click fraud, don't mention anything about friends.

Yeah, your best bet is to email them. 93% CTR is not even close to a MFA site lol.

Dude dont share your sites with friends and never tell them how you make money online...they will get jelous and try to hurt you. I've had my friend copy my site once and open his own because he knew that i was making money from it.

Contact google and let them know.

Yup.. I agree. Don't tell your friends and anybody about your adsense site, and the vise versa don't tell google about your friends. lol.

One of my friend told google about network forum in his college (same ip), then he was banned..

so what do you recommend telling friends if this is your primary way of earning an income? are they just to think that you are in the CIA and you're trying to make something up to cover that?

on the surface level it sounds mysterious... "I make money with web sites I run on the Internet"...

People will easily understand if you say you are web designer. If people ask me, I'll tell them that. They won't ask any further.

You can tell other business models such as affiliate marketing, advertising, auction but not adsense. They will be confused.
