I understood you quite clearly. You spoke about Islamic teaching. I asked you to provide us with some background on Islamic education. Thus far, you have not. I didn't play the racist card because Muslims are not a race. While I am waiting for you to provide that information on Islamic Education, if it is not too much trouble, I'd also like to know which posters you were referring to as "they" earlier in this thread. Now I realize that you do not have to answer my questions, but it would go a long way towards establishing your credibility on this subject. Thanks. I feel that same way about correcting folks in this thread. That is why I am asking you for clarification on your points.
Something tells me AGS (as usual) neglected to, or flat out chose to ignore the original posters intent of this thread. What I have to ad is the positive moves that President Mahmoud Abbas is taking in using US supplied funds to help the people of Palestine instead of the terrorist group Hammas. Let's hope the people that need it the most in Palestine get the help they need and that President Abbas is able to use these funds wisely towards that goal.
We also outrage with the incident. The maniacs who did it caught and probably will be shot to death. There are over 100 millions muslim in indonesia. If only a few who do the maniac thing, will you blames all the rest? We hunt down all the terorist too.
I'm a muslim. And I'm not go a round in the street looking for non muslim to cut thier head off. What's your problem? My current boss is an atheist, and I respect him. One of my boss is a jew, and I respect him. They lives in Indonesia, shops, go to night clubs and still have their head.
You sure about that? The "tiny minority" platitude is quickly fading: http://www.thejakartapost.com/detailweekly.asp?fileid=20060728.@03 40% is not a tiny minority, nor is it 99.99%.
5 according wikipedia.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Muslim_Nobel_Prize_winners another one of these threads same people same smell of shit in the air
Unfortunately, we haven't established his credibility on this subject. I'm sure he is a wonderful webmaster, and heck, he might even prove to be a student of all things Islamic. We'll just have to wait for his response.
I'll spare you nothing, when you attempt to change the topic with moral equivalence to sweep the heads of young Christians girls under the table. I'll call you on it every time.
Who are "we?" You're a noob. You have established your credibility. Work on it, before calling others on theirs.
If all you have is calling me noob, perhaps you should wait for your friend to come back. He might have a clever retort.
40%? Wow that a lot of numbers. 40 millions fanatic muslim, ready to kill non muslim. If that true, no one non muslim will put a step in Indonesia. If that's true, I, my self will not be safe living in Indonesia. I questioned the survey is it stated "The survey spanned 1,200 Muslims in 30 of the country's 33 provinces". 1,200 muslim compare to 200 millions muslim, that far from fair.
There were several other statements there as well. It's a little early to be using the victim card. Don't abuse it though, it can get you in or out of a jam quickly. Just be smart about using it. BTW, should be "haven't established your credibility." Let me know when you do.
In any religion, fanaticism and fundamentalism is typically the problem, not the religion itself. Christianity/Judaism/Islam all have histories of both peace and war. It would be unfair to call Judaism an intolerant and unjust religion because of the atrocities commited by the mossad and israeli special forces; it would be unfair to call Christianity brutal because of the wars Americans have fought under the leadership of a "Christian" who claims to be doing God's will; and it would be unfair to call Islam a hateful religion because of a small group of fundamentalists who see their only salvation from persecution through suicide bombings. We are one world, and we are slowly closing in on ourselves. Tolerance and respect, not radicalism, is the only answer that ensure a prosperous and happy future for us all. If we could all just live by the Golden Rule ("treat your neighbor as you would want to be treated"), the world would be a far better place. Anita
islam does not have a "golden rule." It's rules are well established in scriptures like these. We can pretend and wish, but examples are being set every day.
Semantics. He didn't deny it. He questioned the validity of the sample size. As far as my credibility, feel free to question any of the points I have made on this thread topic. Please reference specific posts.
