anytime anyone exercises there right to free speech, and it happens to be a statement about someone who is not white, rev. al shows up....he gets national attention, gets things all riled up, and then the problem gets worse. If Imus had not gone on his show, but instead apologized and moved on, this would not be half the big deal that it is. Instead al had him on his show, got the idiot listeners of his all riled up, and now Imus has been suspended and may not be back on the air. Did you know Al is trying to get his name put on the monument of Strom Thurmond (Al is a decedent back about 3 generations and not directly from Strom)? However, it was a big deal for about 2 weeks on national news...Al is a media whore who will do anything to get the spotlight, including promoting racism.
Well, Jesse is a possibility given it would not be the first time he knocked some chick up other than his wife. Actually I think the guy owns a cattle ranch or something to that affect. This much is true... He has donated more than anyone I know to SIDS as a for instance. This coming after the then General Manager at CBS had his daughter die from SIDS. I don't think he promotes it.. But he sure does welcome it. It's how he and Jesse make their money. Damn, he better stay out of the middle east. He's libel to bet hung and lose his head. Imus should just kill himself... No apology will do.
I just love how people yell at the top of their lungs about freedoms, such as freedom of speech, but when someone says something they don't like, they want to shut them down. Sharpton and Jackson are profiting off the backs of African Americans. The media treats these two con men as "representatives" for the black community. Imus evidently has an entire career based on whacky crap like this. That's his show. I think it's amazing that a white cowboy-looking old-time like Imus has such power over the black community. For Al n' friends to get this upset over one comment, which is questionable at best, he must really be a force in the black community. You learn something everyday. In other news, someone used the word "mullet" in reference to the haircut of some white people and no one cared.
Surprising two of the team members were white. So how nappy headed were these two other than in support. And can I say callling the kettle black. Please the Most Honorable Reverand Al Sharpton for the spokeperson for the African American Community.............Please really now..... I find it offensive for the fact that they were called ho's and and nappy headed. But if the team was mor3 than 50 % white I am sure it would be different. On the other hand these woman did a great job getting where they are. Another moment brought to you by the male white/black world only to bring down woman of several races to get more hype for their show. But still, can I say that The most Reverened Al Sharpeton is not the eptimy of any society other than his own society. If so, lets bring up his ideals of American Woman in the US society or any other society. He is the furthest thing from any woman's rights. He never appears for the rights of any woman, especially African American, if the woman is a society that is less thought of. Very contradictory to say the least. Can I say 2 of the woman on the TV segment were white. Tell me how Sharpton is fighting for their rights. I would say it leans more of a discrimnatory part on woman as a whole. Calling them ho's for having tat's. Really now. What woman can't do anything whether they are white or black. Pleas now people. And both sides trying to gain politics out of woman's rights.
Can I say Sharpton is riding on the backs of woman to get more support for his agenda. Just as much as Jackson is. Neither of them saying womans rights but people of color rights. The most discriminated is womans rights no matter what the color is. Just another man trying the waves in on womans politics I say. What notority does Sharpton and or Jackson has other than discrimination of color. Very little of respect do they get in general as whole. Why is that. Maybe their statements as are general as white people. No resolve period. Behaving just like the people they despise and try and bring to light of discrimination. Just two men who try and ride on the backs of woman to make their politics known.
Did they mention 2 of the team mates were white? No. The media did not. Nor did Jackson or Sharpton. Nor the fact that the really motivated statement was the team being called ho's. Being refered to woman not color. But latter on they described them as racial slurs. So my point being is, What discrimination is there? Racial is more imporatant as gender rights? What one is more important than the other? Discrimination is wrong period, whether in whole or in part. It is more noticable when a minority is brought to light. I would say in part if not whole is a gender discrimination than a racially motivatived reason. Only more racially motivated because the majority of the woman's team is of African American descendt. I do not see comments being made so loudly if it were Georgetown, North Carolina etc. And why should this team be any diffrerent, especially that Tennessee woman's basketball team has been the tops for years(and greatly respected). So please people.... Look at what really is going on................
Like the response but no, not really. It goes back to men(Shapeton and Jackson) trying to ride on the backs of woman's issue's. How much work do the woman need to do for the men. Who really started the civil rights movement but Rosa Park's. Men building off of womans hard work. Even if the movement was racially motivated. It takes a woman to move the nation and or movement. This is a perfect issue. First response from the radio annoucer was ho's not color. When it comes down to it a womans issue, than color. Listen to the womans basketball teams response to Imus words. And you ask where the NOW movement is. Really. Because when you look at the whole picture. There is more going on than gender and or color issue. People want to make it either a woman's issue or a racial issue. Why is that? Did you not get offended at the woman getting called ho's for some having tatoo's. No, you got offended by the director/producers comment. How do you thing the NOW movement stands in. Some times woman need to stand back and let the men show their true colors. Woman and people of minority know where certain male society stands. IF you are a white male, majority see no discrimination, cause they never fall under such discrimination. My father always said, Sometimes it is worth fighting for, other times to sit back and let the moment ride. This is one of those moments, I let it ride or a organization lets it ride. Racially motivated comments will always take front seat to a whole's agenda. One just needs to let things ride. IF a moment is worth calling attention, than so be it. But the underlining moment is apparent to those who see it. Especially to those who it really affects. Woman and those who are in color discrimination pursuits. Not every moment is worth marching on. People are aware of the moment regardless. I just say such moments need comments on to bring light on those who really think they need attention. Why? Because certain people need to ride on the back of others issues only to bring to light their own issues.
I nominate this post as the most well thought out and intelligent post of the day! egads... Yikes! That is by far one of the worst I have seen. He is the spokesman for AL Sharpton and no one else. Krackers don't have rights, don't you know that! One thing I have always wondered is why a person of colour would get a tatoo when you really cannot see the tatoo? Ok, that is freakier than the Mullet Head above... Yikes! He looks like Dr. Zaius minus the reddish blonde hear of course. That is what both of them do... They do it for personal reasons, ie., MONEY, and nothing else! Honestly, what does Jackson do? Does he or has he really ever had a real job?
People only take Jackson for real, because he was at the moment the Most Honorable Reverend Martin Luther King died(saw the police from a balcony across from where King was killed/But was not involved any other way). None else than that. Riding on the coats of a Great Civil Rights person. And not making his own stance. Clear cut this is a womans issue above a color discrimination suit. Gender 1st, Color second.
Why is that? Why is he funny? He has his points. But he uses his points on someone elses moments. Benedfiting from someone else. He reminds me sometimes of Gloria Alred, the lawyer. Making profit off of someone else.
He is funny because he is free to say whatever, because he is never going to win any type of election
Yes and he know this for 100%. He does this more for a political statement than anything. But from my understanding he is not running in the 2008 elections. What is it for value. For shock value or for truth. Which is it worth more. Whether it be reality, shock or truth?
I agree hole heartedly with you on that! I loved the Democratic Presidential Debates with Sharpton.. He is Sharp (no pun)... It reminds me of Robin Williams in "Man of the Year"... He is a funny guy! BTW, anyone see the picture of the captain of the Rutger B-Ball Team? Tell me that is not a Man? Juwanna Man anyone?
Yes, but when you here her(btw love the connection) is eloquent in her statement. Very thought out and well written statement. When read, executed well. Point whether it be mine or otherwise well done. And yes funny statement mia kudos. And heard her on a radio show, would assume she is a woman by the sound of her voice.
