Google Link Units question

I wonder how Google pays for thier Link Units performance? Is it the same as Google Text Ads = you get paid per each click?

Or, will my visitors have to click on the ads on the page that is displayed when they click on a Google link unit? This would mean that if my visitors click on the Google link units, but won't click on any of the ads displayed on the page with Google ads, I wouldn't earn anything?

visitor has to click on link unit AND ads displayed after click, if he doesn't click ads you won't earn anything.

If you think you won't earn much because visitor has to click two times you are mistaken, you can earn as much as with normal ads, try them

Not really, 50/50 chance. Link Units pay fairly decent on my pages and don't take up as much room or look as obtrusive as the ad units.

I'm thinking of putting them on my forum, as I think there is a higher chance that people will click, as many people know Google ads and simply ignore them. But Google link units are not so well know and many people even think it's a kind of menu, so they click on it. Moreover, it's not so annoying.

However, when they are displayed the ads page, I'm afraid they will just press the back button and ignore the ads, as they will recognize Google ads.

I find they pay better 70% of the time then the old ad units.

Depends of the integration, the topic...

On one of my site, they pay peanuts, on another it's ~60% of the total...

You'll have to try by yourself

I think the link units pay the same as an ad. It depends on the ad clicked.

I've found that the very few clicks I get on them are nice paying - but they're few and far between...

Anyone notice a difference between the horizontal and vertical link units? I have noticed a significantly better performance with horizontal.
