well ive been thinking of a forum (its for the fanfilm guys) so people would discuss about Film Fx on the forum and of course with google ads on it. but the problem is how do i get people to use the forum. i mean without having any guest/visitors.. how do i make people register and use the forum. Do i need bots?

One tip, CTR on forums are usually very low... so you're going to need to have a very active forum to make a decent amount of income...

To get people to register, try pay per post.. don't use bots.

my suggestion is, find several film forums, and get your forum link in your sig, then make some quality posts. So, you will get the traffic.

if these people like your forum, they will stay and come back.

I think you need to consider a forum as part of a suite of sites -- for example, DP isn't just a forum, there are also the tools and services. What else can you do to provide a rounded experience for your visitors and keep them coming back?

I made my sign up very simple, most sign ups have all the profile and about me jibba jabba. I made the registration username, email, password and there is no email confirmation. That gets them in as quick as possible if they are considering posting. Later on you can add email confirmation or extend registration info. Start an adwords campaign, straight up ask people to join friends family anyone interested in the subject. I found a couple of bloggers who focused on the same topic as my forum. So I emailed, asked for a link exchange and invited them to sign up. Bloggers make good forum members. Good luck.

Its just to start off the forum, people usually don't join empty forums.. so you need some posts to start you off first :)

Try advertising in related forums and get some paid posters.

I think getting paid posters is a must, thats how you get the forum started..No one wants to join forums with 4 posts, and end up waiting 10 days for a response..But if they see they're are many posts and members, that gives them more reasons to sign up.

CTR is low only because the same people keep coming back

forums are the funnest type of site you can have imo
