Bad Keyword Tracker results

Discussion in 'Keyword Tracker' started by JimmyN, Aug 12, 2004.

I just signed up and tried to use the Keyword tracker.

I entered about 10 of my phrases that rank #1 or #2 on a Google search, and only two of them showed up. One at #3 position and one at #11 position. Both are #1 if typed directly into Google.
    The rest all show 'N/A'

Keyword Tracker doesn't seem to show results anywhere close to the actual SERP's.

Am I doing something wrong, or is there something I don't know about it?

If you look under Edit Preferences do you have anything set for a country and/or language restriction?

Also, can you give an example of a URL/keyword phrase you think it's reporting wrong? And where you see it ranked when you search Google manually?

Most of my keywords never match either.
I guess it's always hitting a different datacenter.
So, I just watch the ups and downs (differences) and not the *actual ranking.

I figured out what the problem was. I was using domain.com rather than www.domain.com.

    Everything looks about right now.

    What a dummy.....

Had the same incident once. But mine was the opposite. There should be no "www" in the website. I was so shocked when the results are N/A. I was so worried but I checked the keywords manually and it is in Top 5. Lol.
