Im pretty keen to learn seo so I was just curious has anyone on dp bought the book from seobook.com? If so how useful did you find it and was it worth it? Cheers Guys
I found it very useful. A great read and is kept updated. If you are starting out, there is no better resource. All of the information in the book can be found online for free, but having it all in one place to reference is well worth the price.
While books are ok but you have the biggest and fattest book with you: Google/Yahoo/MSN to learn seo. I wouldn't spend a dime on books unless it offers what you can't find already on the net.
Yeah you are right but a book is always more handy and you can take it and read it anywhere you want unless you are on the net 24/7. I would recommend a book from that site because I personally think that seobook.com has some pretty good information.
Ive read it and its a great begging for anyone who wants to learn SEO. Just remember SEO is always changing and if you want to play ball you have to keep yourself updated, but its a very good read if you starting out.
I bought the ebook and printed it out. I then went through it and highlighted the areas that I didn't know, or knew already but needed to work on. I then trashed the pages I didn't highlight and now I've got an easy way to go over what needs to be worked on. You can learn it all online, but for the price and time you save having it all at once, it's definately worth it.
Actually you can try searching for good articles from the net, they're free and some are really good, helpful & definitely will help you to know and understand more about SEO. =)
I highly recommend SEOBook and I'll tell you why. Sure, all the information is available online. But, the problem is there's a lot of false information too. I'd say on more than half of the posts on here people post completely wrong information. Information that might have been true 3 years ago, but is dead wrong now. I have to bite my tongue at least 3-4 times a minute it seems, as about all I would do is argue with people who don't know what the hell they are talking about. So, sure you MIGHT be able to find everything in SEOBook right online but then again you might also find an extra 20-30 things that won't work. The best way to learn is to work on a large variety of different websites. I have dozens of clients now, and that's where I learn the most. I get to experiment with all kinds of interesting websites, and see what works and what doesn't. Most people don't have that luxury. There's only so much you can learn from here, or from SEOBook or anywhere else. And quite a bit that you can learn from actually doing it. MR
People say all the time you can "find the same stuff on the Net" or some derivative of that statement. But the reality is people who are new to this game (I started my first site in 1995) don't have the experience to weed through everything. So this type of resource is excellent. For an up to date SEO community resource look into Planet Oceans offering as well. It's worth the investment knowing what is going on with the major players month to month.
i read it and enjoyed it. i knew a lot of what it said, but that doesn't mean it isn't valuable. most people would really gain a lot of value from his book.
