Hello everyone i own a forum for webmaster related discussions, the site name and domain is WebmastersHelp.com. I'm thinking in moving the forums to a more brandable name, Exdevio.com. Here are some reasons i have to do this: WebmastersHelp.com is a nice domain but it's not a nice name. It's long and doesn't look good in a logo. There are so many webmasterthis and webmasterthat domain names. Most big comunities have a unique name. Some cons: The current pagerank and SE rankings are good, i'll have to start again. Some people know us as WebmastersHelp.com. Those things will be partially solved using redirects. I think this will be good in the long term, but i'm not sure if it's just me or not. I tend to change things a lot. So, my question is this, should we change the name WebmastersHelp.com to Exdevio.com? Thanks in advance. Gaston
Short answer: NO. Long answer: the current site is already branded and developed under the current domain name. Sure, it may sound like another webmasterwhatever site, but it's YOUR webmasterwhatever site and you have regulars visiting it instead of others. Exdevio.com sounds like a cool name and if you're currently sitting on it I can think of a million other things to do with it, instead of moving over an existing community there.
Pretty much anything, to be honest. What other services/products do you have in your portfolio? List them here and I will tell you which one I think would be best benefited from using that domain name.
I design, code and have a reseller. But i don't want to offer any service like hosting or design, i want community based websites. Maybe something like digg but for development but there is too much competition for that. I need to think in something original, unique if possible. I'm not asking you to give me your unique ideas .
