Who the hell is a Webmaster?

    I have seen a thousand forums on Webmasters. I have heard that Digg users are generally the webmasters. I have even had people telling me to consult a webmaster for so and so.

    But still what i dont get is, who is a webmaster? How does one qualify for that title?

    Anybody please clarify

    do you run a website? or do anything with them? If so, you are one according to my definition of it...

    Nope, some people know what it means.
    to me, a webmaster is someone who generally takes care of web sites. He does need to possess many skillsets ranging from programming to scripting to networking etc.

    that's how you define webmaster. :D

    Is it must for webmaster to qualify to know how to maintain the site other than the updates.What about someone who does the maintenance of the contents only, don't he qualify in webmaster title.

    if you run a website, or if you own a blog, or something that you manage on net similar to sites, then you can call yourself a webmaster!:)

    If you have websites and you maintain them do SEO work on them etc. Thats a webmaster.

    easy way to get one ugly website but become good webmaster you should need this following ...

    1) who has a website with paid domain and space
    2) earnings atleast $20 per day
    3) 100 unique and more visitors from organic search

    am i ok ?

    Yes that's what i would say as well :D You don't have to script it or design it, as long as you own and maintain it you're a webmaster...

    For me the webmaster is a person who owns a websites, maintain and live of it. The webmaster should know at least SEO, graphic programms, HTML, PHP etc.
