Agloco anyone? Reputable?

Just received a mail from an internet marketing guru who's list I'm on referring me to Agloco. Has anyone heard of them? Are they reputable? Can you seriously make money just from viewing ads on a bar at the top of your screen?

I remember there was a load of these systems doing the rounds back in 1999 and I made a few dollars from them, but nothing more.

After sign-up they tell you that the software is not quite ready but will be in the next few days (up to 10th April or something like that).

Has anyone heard of them because I was a little anxious to give them my email address to start with.

It seems like a ponzi scheme to me, except that people are paying with time rather than money. The point is that it won't work and will collapse shortly after the start, because for a member to make any significant cash they need to have a bunch of referrals. Since those referrals would all need a bunch of referrals who would all need a bunch of referrals... and so on... the program will die quickly.

Thanks Guys, thought the same to be honest but was a little surprised to see Joel Comm promoting it and a few other big name Internet Marketers, so I thought... maybe. Anyway, I did join up but since I won't be promoting it as I have no list etc then it'll make me nothing presumably.

I wouldn't be quick to judge this one. I was in on AllAdvantage when they were big and was receiving several thousand per month at its peak. The only reason they went under is because the dotcom bust happened and advertising dollars dried up.

Agloco has several of the same principals involved as AllAdvantage, only this time the ad dollars are flowing. They've got over 15 ad networks on board for the launch as of now and the toolbar should be rolled out this month.

It was easy to roll the dice on this as I believe it is a winner. But if it flops, no one is out any cash.

    jcomm is right..

    and in addition:
if you join agloco you are not required to recruit your own referrals
however you are advised, if you only want, to build your own agloco network for more earnings...

I don't understand all the angst either toward a system where you basically aren't taking a loss. I have a few referrals under my belt but I am definitely going to bet the farm on this is just a way to try to monetize...that's all.

I have a lot of angst for ponzi schemes and pyramid schemes, and as a result MLM. These schemes are just methods to scam money from people. Even some people do make money from any of them, they are just doing it by scamming it out of other people (i.e. their "downline").

I don't know how much of AGLOCO is a scheme, but they seem like one to me. Their site reads like an autosurf to me. Without a downline, their calculator told me I could make $5 surfing. The only way to make more would be to get a cut of a bunch of other people's $5 from my "downline". (Besides, a minimum payout would be a way for them to make sure nobody gets paid without recruiting more members.)

I assume most people are like me and wouldn't bother doing this for the chance at $5 per month max. Thus, the only way to get a downline is to trick people into thinking they can make more than $5.00, but the only way they can do that is to trick more people, etc. etc. etc. And, eventually it all collapses, because there's only so many people in the world to trick.

I don't know if they have a solid business plan beneath the MLM, but I doubt it, because if they did have a solid business plan why would they resort to MLM?

the viewbar will be release soon. everyday, 50,000 members will get to download the viewbar. So the process will take 10-11days to complete ( there are over 500,000 agloco members)

I have started to see some numbers in my hours this month column, so someone under me has it, and is using it. Its free to try, so why not. If you get in the top 3% you might make some decent money.

I've just taken a look at the calculator and I think you misunderstood what it tells you. It doesn't give you a dollar amount but a number of hours.

Presumably this hour amount is used to divide all profits made through the scheme between the members. 5 hours could mean far less than $5.

At least that's the way I understand it. If anyone knows better please correct me.

It's very likely that I misread the calculator, because I didn't put much effort into it. I don't do MLM.

Anyway, that's even worse if they get less than $5.

I doubt they'll be making it easier to understand any time soon. Although it doesn't say dollars I think most people will assume that's what is meant and there is only one small link that explains what the value means.

I suspect there'll be a few people signed up expecting $5+/month who are going to be very disappointed.

There are many ways to earn with AGLOCO
one is through shares accumulated by using viewbar.
others through ad revenues where cash is given.

But one thing we should take note that the
earnings is residual in nature but continuous...:D
