I have a site and stats for more 1 year. The number of uniques for the same keyword for any given month has been decreased to half while the rank has remained the same - or even better -. I wonder if anybody else has the same exprience, if I am not alone then MSN search is losing it's visitors rapidly. Any experience to confirm or dismise mine guys?
MSN gets a lot less traffic than Google and it keeps decreasing every month...everyone goes to google so it is natural that your stats are going down as far as unique visitors... Ivan
I just made a post needing some advise from this. Now I see the answere to my question. I should have read more threads before I posted. -all4one
I'm starting to move away from google.. so thats 1/8th of the people in this thread (at minimum) that are sick of evil-g's monopoly. Google results are becomming less relevant every day.. whereas, I usually find what I want on Yahoo or MSN a lot quicker now than I ever did in the past.
dont forget that 50% of people use google not msn and it doesnt mean MSN got anotehr 50%. they have to share with many others search engines. so compare the numbers of user you will see why.
MSN is losing because of Google. Also, anyone else feel like the new MSN layout is really hard to navigate around? I like google because of its simplicity.
You know - I have a theory that MSN and Yahoo devalue sites using Adsense. Why would they want to help Google make money? I need a little more research to back this claim up. Does anyone else figure this too?
Well my websites are 1 to less than a yr old. So I guess GOOGLE has me in the sand box. I get most of my traffic from MSN.com I'd say just about 70% the rest google and yahoo.com. For me msn.com is helpeing me to survive.
Yeah, I guess MSN is on a going down phase, with all the adsense and yahoo messenger going around, and the release of vista so distant from the XP. Maybe this is the end?...
Naw.... I'm sure they're making money, however.... Google has been much better at 'phrase based searching'. People type in all kinds of weird crap, but MSN seems to heavily rely on anchor text and page titles. Heck, ranking for certain terms on that engine is easy as pie.... but thats all you'll get... that one certain term. Sure, you'll show up down the list somewhere with the variant, but google can tear apart that phrase much better than M, putting you up in the serps much more often, for all kinds of stuff. Well... at least thats my theory.
