Xoom or Check ?

Thanks for the reply! I'm gonna contact Xoom customer care once again. In December 2006, someone @ Xoom email support suggested that I should use a dummy USA address because India to India transfer is not possible. Only NRIs can use Xoom to transfer funds to India. I followed his suggestion and did everything according to his suggestion, ended up listening 6 minute lecture by Xoom transaction verification staff.

I even forwarded the email to him that I received from Xoom customer care but he didn't listen. Finally, canceled my transfer and refunded the money.

 

I used the same name in sender as well as in the recipeint's name still they have sent the payment to my bank account.

 

Yea, it says "Bank Deposit" so you will get it in the bank account.

I would like to know if you have a Paypal Account, do you have to have a credit or international debit card also, for withdrawing your funds from the Paypal account? Or will the Paypal administrators send you a check? Does the same apply for Xoom also?

 

Just wanted to add that Xoom transfer from Indian Paypal to your bank account is possible.
Me and many DP members have now used their services.

Point to note:
The name on the PP account and the name on the bank account should match.
Secondly only bank deposit is available for Indians who want to withdraw their Paypal funds through Xoom into their bank account.
Other options such as Pick-ups are not available for such transactions.

Hope this helps to clear your doubts.

Also feel free to PM me with your email address in case you want me to forward the email from Xoom where they clearly mention that such transactions are legal and can be done through Xoom.

In regards to the above question, paypal will directly send you a check to the address and name you mentioned in your PP account.

if you are not in hurry and can wait easily 12 to 45 days, then sure use paypal.. but if you want money asap.. use XOOM and about their charges, we can only discuss that whether its too high or not.. but main decision will be favour Xoom owner.

 

Thanks, Arvind! I'm going to give Xoom another try. They badly disappointed me in December 2006.

One thing that I wanted to ask.. any UTI bank account holder here? I recently opened an account in UTI bank and will love to know how was your experience with Xoom to UTI bank deposit.

As far as I remember one of the DP members has a UTI Bank account and he had successfully completed the transaction, however he is not right now available on the forum.

His father is in the hospital but maybe he will be back soon.

When I calculated the thing..Xoom actually gave me more than PayPal did

Will be in Dad's bank account tomorrow, gee !!!

 

Use Xoom. So many Indians complain about PayPal losing their check..it's not worth to take the risk and then lose $15.

Right... Use Xoom and get money quickly. To save 8 bucks or 15 bucks you might need to loose the check and be involved into long communications with adsense support.
