What's the best way to get forum traffic? Is it any different from regular content pages traffic? Are there any techniques that should be applied to get forum traffic that you might not use with regular traffic or vice versa? Thanks in advance.

O and kind of off topic but how the hell do u stop visitors from spamming? I have almost no traffic right now and already I get 4-5 spam posts a day. I delete them daily but they don't seem to get discouraged.

Install a registration system similar to this (my site, vbulletin).

Forum traffic: usually repeat visiters, low CTR... but if they're dedicated to the forum = high quality visitors... that tend to stay longer

Regular traffic: tends to be more unique and most do not stay as long.
