    Hello,

I am opening this thread to have some talk about link building through submitting articles with backlinks to article directories.

If you found a PR6 article direcotry and submitted your article there, you'll find that the page of your article have PR0, does that mean that you didn't benifit at all from the PR6 of the home page of that article directory and your links will just exist in a useless PR0 page?

    OR

Google will consider finiding your link in a PR6 domain name (not page) and give you better rank and PR?

One more question, Does PR0 pages at PR6 domains are visited by Google more frequently than ordinary PR0 pages?

    Waiting for your replies :)

    Thanks

People put the articles from the article directories onto their sites which then gives you a good amount of backlinks.

-First of all visual PR only updates a few times a year. So you will need to wait for a long time before you can really tell what PR your article page is.

-Article sites themselves can often be oversaturated and just because their front page is PR6 does not mean you will benefit from it on deeper pages. People usually submit to article directories to get their articles picked up and published by other sites. Like Dturnbull mentioned...

-Google considers pages as pages :D

-Yes and no. You should update your site more often. Google will need to keep up and spider your site more frequently. Or you can use sitemaps and define how frequently your content changes.

It usually happens around 3/4 times a year. I think the next one is due soon. But there is no certain date.

Well, the purpose (at least for me) is to get other websites to pick up the articles and put them on their sites, not for them to get PR from an article directory.

I don't quite know how many real sites will pick up the articles (versus automated blogs, adsense sites etc.) but it starting to look like a better alternative compared to mass link exchanges.

PR is overrated. Authority sites are more important.

You think only from the point of PR witch is a bad thinking mode

A link is a link and this backlinks obtained from articles are great ...

Most of my back links come from article marketing. It is true that the site that your article is put on is a low PR page. But a PR 6 article directory lends a little bit of its PR to the pages that have articles. And a lot of articles pages add up for you. I hope that makes sense. Point is it's not worthless.

How do you think a PR0 aritcle page benifits from the PR of the directory home page?

    Exactly.

I'll like to add that, google consider the number of backlinks and PageRank of the backlink pages of the page from your site is getting backlink. I mean, backlink of backlink pages are also important.

So, in your case the PR0 page where your link is present have a backlink form PR6, which is worthy.

I hope I am clear and understandable. :)
