Do you have a standard reply to email enquiries?

    Hi guys

I'm very new to all this and have just starting using my email sig as a Marketing Tool. I've had a few interested parties so far but I've found myself giving them different answers each time.

Do you guys have a pre-prepared reply to this type of enquiries?

Also I was wondering if you add your link to the Sig for your personal aswell as your Business email addy? The reason I ask this is that I send a LOT of personal emails but none from by Business yet - ideally though I'd prefer not to be asked questions 'personally' about it yet because its all new to me and NO I'm not earning millions yet! (or anything for that matter! haha)

    All advice appreciated :)

i think what she means is something like an auto-responder. the ones where once you sent an email you get a automated response, "we have received your inquiry and will get back to you within 48 hours. in the meanwhile please check out XXX." kind of stuff.

Sorry I didnt explain myself very well there did I?

I'm getting quite a few emails like 'Typingmums looks interesting.......can u tell me a bit more about it...........' & 'how long have you been doing this for and how much have you made?'..........I particularly hate this one because the 'official' answer is........2 weeks & nothing

Do I gear my answer to the individual question or do I have something prepared that I just reply with - something thats already typed up in Word and I just copy & paste.

    Thanks again guys

I don't use any auto-responders because I find them annoying personally.. when I recieve them.

For signature: I place the URL of my site as well as my business's logo.

The more emails you get, the more canned replies you're going to want to use. I do support for a friend of mine who gets a couple hundred emails a day - I barely ever type out a custom reply. That would just be impractical.

I have a 'library' of standard sales/marketing paragraphs (and entire emails, for that matter) that I open up when replying to sales and/or marketing inquiries to my network cable business. I read every inquiry and then cut and paste in the paragraphs that will respond to the inquirer's specific question(s). Not only saves time, but results in better answers because I often improve on the saved text as I find additional aspects of the question that I had not considered before, etc. I also add stock paragraphs as new questions come up. If the document starts to get too long to scroll through to find the right response, I will break it up into several documents by topic.
