Iv always wondered how people track down the users using your PUB ID (for whatever reason it may be) Iv seen some people here talking on the forums about them spotting someone... but how did you do it?
I think this feature should be added into the AdSense reports interface. Publishers need protection too!
I agree, they leave publishers to worry about this on their own. Adlogger only works on pages with all the code necessary, not just your PUB ID.
Set up channels for every site; If your total number of impression is more than the number of impressions added from all the channels you have, then most probable your adsense id is used somewhere else.
I email to adsense support team to let them know the websites that are owned by me and the website i put the adsense. I also create the channel for all domain name to see the number of impression of website and the number of clicks from different domain name. If you found the there is some clicks which are not from your domain name, you can email to adsense support team to report about it.
i did find my total clicks more than the sum of all my channel's clicks. so i am confused where those added clicks come from.
Yes I already do that. But that wouldn't help to know if someone is using it else where....? Sure you may see an extra click, but that doesn't tell you where it's from
this is an issue with adsense. How do you find the urls your pub-id is on? It may have been done by acident or purposfully. Your ment to be responsible for tracking your ads, but google doesnt help you track it if somebody steals your adcode. Pierce
True enough, and this is one of the worst things about adsense, they have nothing to help the publishers. It's impossible to find a site using your ad code, if you ever notice any jumps in clicks. Iv emailed them to see where some extra clicks came from and they said they couldn't tell me? What kind of rule is that... it's my own account!
I have the same problem, but it happens with impressions too. I get 2000~3000+ extra impression's and yes clicks too. Which was kind of bad. I got a email from google about a website that I did not own and they said that one of the urls in the site was "adult" content and I need to remove my advertisments from that page. I did not own that site and promptly replied that it is not my site and I can not remove them. I got a final warning over it and that is when I had to do a whois look up on the website and hunt down the person that owned the site and emailed them to remove the adsense. It turns out that there pubid is close to mine and they mistyped thier pubid and it ended up being mine. I am sure if I could not contact the person that was using my pubid I would have had my account supended or banned because of it. I think google don't care. I too asked the same question after I got it removed I told them what happen, how I barely managed to remove it, and how I can prevent it in the future. They person that replied did not address it at all. They just told me the adsense was removed and my account is in good standing again. The emails back and forth. I get this message back. I was like WTF I told you I could not change it. I sent this is after I found the person that owns the site and asked them to remove it. Notice they did not say anything about how I can stop this from happening in the future. All they said is the adsense was removed. I would have had my acocunt banned and they did not get a crap about it.
that wouldn't be helpful at all, because whoever wants to get you banned will copy your entire adsense code, including the channel numbers
Google simply needs to create a by-domain report for us to use. Not based on what WE set up, but on what is being ACTUALLY used. We'd spot the outliers in a heartbeat that way. And then the coup de grace would be be if the user could turn ads on and off on each of the domains that are listed. Sounds simple to me....Anyone from google reading?
Adpubster You are so right about it, and it would be such an easy thing for Adsense to implement. Unfortunately we as publishers are so vulnerable that it hurts. Maybe if enough publishers will write about it on the Adsense blog they will finally take some action and resolve our problem?
I've been looking...first place I've come up with is here: https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/request.py? Under Other there is a category Suggest a feature You then get a bunch of choices, I think reports might be the most applicable one listed. I'm thinking that that's as good a place as any to start.
There are lots of things they COULD do, but like so many have already said, they don't seem to care much. 1) They could hide or encrypt the PUB ID so that others can't use it to start with. OR better still, 2) They could insert a field in the publishers Control Panel where the publisher would have to select domains where his ads are going to be displayed. Only the publisher would have access to his control panel, so, if the ads were placed on a domain that was not on the publisher's list of authorised domains, the ads wouldn't show.
