Hi, My site is a .net, do you think that would really affect traffic or anything at all since it isn't a .com?
It should not affect traffic. If the site has good content and links to it, it will rank well regardless of the domain extension. I actually redirected all traffic from one of my .com domains to the .net one as it was ranked #1 in all the search engines for eg. Also, i came across a site a few months back where the google #1 spot was taken by a .us extention - further proof that .com etc does not matter as much as content/value of the website.
i got a .net and dont have any problem with it. So i would say, don't worry about it. It could be a good domain name too
I do not think you should worry about it. But I think if someone would write the domain directly in the browser they would probably write keyword.com and keyword.net the first time. If you got good content and sites linking to you, you do not need to worry. //Andreas
some names look better with .com and some sites look better with .net, and it shouldn't effect anything.
.com's are easier to remember but that will change as people become more familiar with the other extensions
.net .biz .com are exactly the same for seo, do you dont have to worry about it, but a .com is always easiest to remember and better for branding.
One of my largest sites is .net and is doing quite well. I am #1 for several SERP terms and people generally find me without a problem.
i think the main advantage of .com is when you're trying to promote something offline. everyone automatically thinks .com when they're trying to remember a website address
