Hello guys~ I am new to here. I just captured an expired domain yesterday successfully (rather unexpected). But not sure what to do next. So come here to ask (from google). 1. Can I sell the expired domain immediately and transfer to others? Since Icann policy seems to have 2 month restriction about transfer; but I am not sure if it applies to a backorder of expired domain 2. The expired domain has some PR value(4+); and I plan to build backlinks to maintain it. However, if I build links from site which has very low PR value, will it degrade the PR of my domain? Does quality of backlinks matter a lot? Thanks Hopefully come to the right place
Well, Congratulatsion. You cannot buy it from the domain name registrar or anything but you can approach the owner and offer him to pay renew the domain name and pay any penalty. Then once that is done, you can have him transfer the name to you. Once a domain name expires, the PR will most likely drop during the next PR update. Do not buy it for the PR factor.
1. Yes, if the registrar is the same. No if you need to transfer it to different registrar. 2. That's good. It might or might not depending on what you do with the domain. You domain might lose some of the back links it is getting from different sites. 3. Make sure you advertise your new domain and develop something there, before selling links. You have come to the right place no doubt.
