Drop?

I have noticed the # of users on DP has really dropped, going on average from 1400 to between 800 and 1k. Additionally the number of deals, good ones at least has dropped in the B/S/T forums. Sadly I have also noticed the number of users being banned has increased. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this alarming trend?

It happens everyday. What can you say? This is a bigass forum with a lot of people that try to register for no good business practices.

You should be glad that the moderator team is doing as good as they are. And there's different seasons for sales, really...usually I find the best most interesting deals near Christmas and in June/July in the webmaster market (don't ask me why).

    Check the stats http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php?faq=dp_faq#faq_statistics

We should see a drop in traffic from USA this weekend due to Easter. School is out and families tend to travel. It may be US sellers are not starting sales until after holiday weekend.

In states you will see traffic down around Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day - our big holidays.

Its called having a life and using it :D

lol something dp "addicts" do-not have :)
not including me i had 7 hours of college (library time...jeez this never ends) and 3 hours of traffic so im off the hook for being online these days :D

    And to further explain:

Whenever a social event occurs, like easter, you might find it wierd, but people do get away from pcs/laptops and actually socialize with each other, i know i know, it may sound dodgy but it does happen ive seen it!

and no this is not mumbo jumbo and i ain't a witch docta. :D

I didn't have any bunnies yet, I have noticed A LOT of banned people on this forum, but then I also notice they are unbanned and do return. I haven't been a member long enough to comment on a noticiable trend, but I do like the amount of resources available here. I come here almost every day looking for ways to improve my site, make money, and the ever rare occasion of lending a hand..
To OP, what do you think the reason is for the decrease in online members?
