It's like a friggin Russian race car... from 70 miles an hour to zero in 10 seconds...... Yesterday at noon, 5,000 unique visitors, today, 300 unique visitors and I haven't changed anything!!!! I see lots of java script redirects, spam sites, blog sites and other sites that doesn't even belong in the search results and my site went from page one to ??????? I just don't get WTH is going on. You're fine for some time and then suddenly POFF... Gone! Wait for weeks or months and then POFF... you're in and that is without changing anything..... I can understand if you go up and down in the SERP's because new sites are added and they might be better SEO'd than your's but this is F-ing rediculous
It's been steady for months with some minor adjustments up and down but pretty steady. 15,000 - 20,000 unique a day but now it'll be just like a friggin dripping faucet.
Hmm... so that's strange. Maybe the freshness of your content expired and you should to add some. If not, don't worry, it can be only temporary. This happens sometimes and can take a week or two of jumping here and there.
Dolphin in the tuna net. Google will never get it "right" because the variables are constantly changing. The "bad guys" are constantly changing. With organic search sometimes you win sometimes you don't. Focus on linking relationships that generate traffic, NOT just for SEO.
As I remember, Mike had some problems on XMas Google craziness, just like me, and I have lost few sites these days, too. So, I dont think its anything on its side, its just Google craziness, and I believe, better to say, I hope it will come back as before.
I gather most of those 5000 uniques were from google. This thing has happened with my websites twice. From number one to zilch and then back.
Same here with some of my sites. I am expecting it to go back to normal this month, though. I even sent some of my sites to parking
Almir, Yes, it happened around XMas too and some time in January when it went to oblivion for 2 weeks and then back to "normal" without me changing anything. Now the same friggin thing! Like I said, I can understand sites going up and down in the SERP's since new sites come in every day, site that might be better SEO'd or have more links or whatever Google decide to use as a parameter to rank sites that day. What I don't understand is why they have to turn everything upside-down overnight just to get the results back again a week, a month or several months later. Just doesn't make any sense whatsoever! by the way, last time, or maybe the downgrade before that, I saw a lot of spam sites and other small sites show up in the serps, and this time I see exactly the same sites in top positions, so I guess they have been at the bottom since last time. It's easter alright but I don't think that 75% less people are out on the Internet.
I've been hit hard today as well on one of my sites - 6,000 uniques a day 500, and I think it will be dropping even lower tomorrow looking at where my pages are ranking in the current SERPs. LOL - great analogy, but I sure wish Google would cut me free and throw me back in the ocean. It's just part of the organic game and Google doing it's best refine the algorithm - I'm sure this is temporary and those good sites that genuinely deserve to be at the top of the SERPs will make their way back there. I mean I'm not too worried about the whole thing because I know I build my sites with quality in mind - so I'm sure my SERPs will be reinstated.
Same thing is happening with me since last 10 days when Google starts BL update which they often perform just before PR update. But last 3 days are worst and the reason I analyze is Good Friday, Easter and off course Google update. However, the picture will be clear today. Being a SEO I can realize that this happen in every Google update, but I don't remember that ever seen a big change in traffic like this ever and that's making me worried.
