I could really use some schooling in this area. If you don't have one, should you buy one?

Intrested in all feedback, and thanks in advance :)

    Hello Stuph,

do you need the scripts for opt in or marketing ideas how to get subscribers?

If 2nd, i would definitvly say you should offer some free stuff, ebooks or s.th. to get subscribers.

I was thinking about just buying a list for a certain niche, but wondering if this practice was not popular due to the CanSpam laws...or is it alive and well. Just find a list broker to get list from?

I don't know about buying lists... It is probably far better to sign up somewhere like aweber and develop your own list through a pitch page and something like adwords. You will get very targeted subscribers then.

    Hi stuph,

While it is perfectly legal for list brokers to sell lists, and perfectly legal for you to buy lists, it is ILLEGAL for you to mail to them. The people on the list (if it was compiled honestly) have opted into the owner of the list NOT the buyer of the list. You really open yourself up to legitimate spam accusations by mailing to a list you buy.

Now, on the other hand, some companies will "rent" you a list and do the mailing for you...in which case there are no spam issues...that is if the company compiled the list from real opt ins.

It is ALWAYS better to compile your own list.

BTW...keep copies of all opt in forms for the one hooplehead who will forget he opted in to your list and report you for spam. You will have his opt in form as proof.

    Jim

Aweber is the best autoresponder to create your own opt-in list.

Its really good and cheap :)

    Well worth the money.
