I had a link in my sig for a little, but i didn't get any sales. Maby you'd get one every little while.

Whenever possible, I ask customers how they heard about me or one of my sites. Approximately 10% of those that respond to this question tell me they clicked my sig in one of the forums I belong to.

I would estimate 60% of all the auctionads referals come from forum signatures.

I think it takes new programs really to work.

It worked. Forum signature is one of the easiest way to get free traffic IMO :)

I get a decent amount of traffic to my main site from forum sigs...which in turn leads to affiliate sales and what not. So I suppose I do.

All sounds good to me! I'm a new member but as soon as I qualify I'll be using that signature :)

I never include my affiliate links in forum sigs, but do get a significant amount of traffic to my sites from forum sigs, which often leads on to affiliate sales.

I have been getting traffic and sales from my forum signatures.
You just have to make sure that the traffic you get converts.

I did pretty good with TLA affiliate links, but as Shoe mentioned, it works best on new programs.

It depends on what you have in your sig. Some things do better than others. Like promoting an affiliate program or web directory here would do better than trying to sell a product from an electronics site that sells digital watches or something.

I agree with john269 - aff links in a sig have to be related to the forum you frequent - make sure the stuff you are promoting is of interest to the forum users.

Yes. I have made sales frommy sig.

It really helps if you make quality posts
in a forum instead of just using your
    sig as spam.

Sig is only a way to brand one's own website I think. No one would pay for anything without detailed infos and reviews, at least sig won't help this way.

But isn't one of the reasons for having a link in a sig is to send a visitor to a sales/squeeze page?
