Yep. I do not want ads related to one of my sites. Or at least as few as possible. One of my sites is a myspace resource site. Myspace ads from adsense are an abomination of pennies per click. Is there any way, short of filtering thousands of myspace sites, to get less of those and more of others? I've been using <!--google_adsense_start/end --> and it works on some pages but not others.
Use the competetive filtering system in AdSense. Click on AdSense Setup / Competetive Ad Filter Type in the URLs of the ads you want out... EDIT: I just realized you probably already know that but don't want to do it one by one... try http://www.adsblacklist.com/ and type in your URL
Sure, there are a million ways to get ads that aren't relevant to your site (i.e. high paying ads), but if Google finds out, they will not like it.
This is what I get for one of my myspace sites from AdsBlackList.com: allfreecursors.com thetemplatesite.net links-4-you.com business-software-smart.com mylot.com purebusiness.com dbmoz.net searchemu.org dbmoz.biz mozsite.com bigodata.com discussit.biz inhunt.com searchignite.com js2006.net topbestsites.org advancedwebsearch.info top4search.net info.com mylot.info fiveresults.com instant-free-info.com genieanswers.com flights4less.net free-pictures-photos.com idesktopwallpaper.net dealtime.co.uk findinfotoday.com freedigg.com infoforyourhealth.com justinternetadvertising.com lifepeaks.com medkuz.com searchguide.biz top10-web-hosting.com besthomegardensites.com chasingstuff.com eanimationschools.com fastcoolrides.com finditonline.ws getbestinfo.com igraphicdesign.net morpheusultra.com resourcemecca.com tunu.com wilddreams.org aprido.com dealsandoffers4u.com ecomputerwallpaper.com faqsdirect.com
Wow....and what a creative reply! Let's tell that to the guys who run freeweblayouts or the thousands of others who make $xxx per day on non creative myspace sites.
Not always. For instance, myspace ads are notoriously low paying. Yet I have myspace layouts for certain niches that pay HIGH. I want ALL my pages to filter out the myspace ads. If I have a section of myspace layouts that is for bands, the ads that come up tend to be for music downloads etc. These pay good. But many of my pages have other myspace layout site ads which blow.
try to open a new site on another niche, and you will get not only better paid but also targeted ads.
I'm not getting my point across. I already have about 6 sites and do VERY well with adsense on them with targeted ads because the niche of those sites pays. Myspace sites are amongst the worst for ecpm. I was trying to find out if there was a way to simply eliminate most of the myspace sites that advertise on my site and go for the others as stated previously.
The only way to control what types of ads show up is with your content. Set up a blog (on your myspace page) and talk about random things like video games and ponies or whatever as well as give updates on what your site offers. Google loves sites with dynamic content.
Let me get this straight: you emailed them, telling them you want to target ads that are NOT relevant to your site (via section targeting, etc), because you want the high-paying ads, and they said "it's okay"? B$.
