I think that paid sticky threads ( max 2 on each sub forum ) must be included in Buy and sell forum , because of very high traffic generally your thread moves down from 1st page in about 20 minutes and many good sellers are not able to find good buyers, so I think that paid sticky threads will be excellent solution for serious sellers who are wanting to place on auction some good stuff.

So what do you think is paid sticky threads in BST forum needed ?

Well I don't think so we need this because I always visits first 8 to 9 pages. So I can find out easily.

Let's see what other big boys comments on this issue.:)

Yes. I like this idea. 90% people don't use to go to 2nd page...

It'd be cool, but Name Pros sucks ass anyway, DP is better than it. Its a good idea like.

Everybody should be given an equal exposure.

Don't like the idea of paid thread -- Sitepoint already does that, no need for it here.

Lazy then aren't they! Bad idea - especially when this forum does not have a problem with people bumping threads.

Everybody should be given an equal exposure while the service is free , but if you're paying for an ad why it should be equal exposure ?

M8 I agree that Namepros sucks, but I'm sure if it'll be allowed only 1 or 2 stickies everything will be fine.

But I can't even imagine what war you're talking about ? Are you getting in war when you're buying links , adwords or any other online ads ? So why it will cause war ?

Yes sitepoint have marketplace , but in DP you'll get much higher exposure , besides in sitepoint you don't know whom to trust ( in most cases )

Yes bumping is allowed , but bumps are really something which is spoiling the quality of the forum. And as for me , I hate

Bumps , PM sent , OK , Pm received , All pm replied and anythin BullShit in this manner

The trouble with 'stickys' is that if you limit it to just 2 then you will almost never have a free spot.

I know if it were a reasonable fee I would have most of my sales on one BUT how would you get it on if there are only 2?

So you would then need more, and then when they are full you would need more until eventually you would have to have Sticky Stickies to make sure your add got on the first page.

The answer is simple as others have said, look beyond the first 2 pages!

or maybe there is a hack that allows you to check an idividual forum since your last visit. That would help the situauton.

If bumping are not allowed then I might asume that sticky threads will be very good solution to keep your post on top

Yes I agree with Hopper that 2 stickies are not enough and it'll be hard to reserve a space , but I think that in this case some limitation will help
    For ex .

User must have at least 500 post , good Itrader and reputation , allowed to post sticky only twice in a month ( each sticky no longer then 3-4 days ) and so on

    I think that it'll help

We just need more sub forums in the SITES, DOMAINS, etc threads....

That way all sites would get more time on the first page.

I vote no. It'll just make the forums looked more cramped than they already are. :p

    I'd vote no.

It would be nice for threads to be able to stay closer to the front page longer but this wouldn't solve the problem

    Maybe more sub categories ...

    buy links/Sell links
    pr1 - pr3
    pr4 - pr5
    pr6-10
    high traffic

or even better, add a button for people to check identifying the pr or high traffic and add a quick filter button or some such thing so if you're looking to buy pr5 links you can click and display only pr5 link sales (for example)
