Well, i am an adwords noob, but i have one adwords campaign running targetting certain brands and models...where i think this makes sense because potential customers might look up brands and models on google if they want to buy.

Now for my german site which sells graphics cards i want to use the term "geforce" in an adwords campaign - but i CANT since google says this is a trademark !!

Is there a way to use this term somewhere else to start an ad campaign with "geforce" as keyword..... (yahoo ???). Also, it doesnt make too much sense for me. "Geforce" might very well be a trademark..but why cant i use this for adwords ? Its not that i would damage NVidia by selling their cards...actually exactly the opposite...Nvidia should be glad if i can sell some of their cards ?

    thanks

They do not want the competition. If they own trademark for name you can not use it if they do not want people to use it. Legal action from a company would cost more than you ever would make.

There are always ways around Trademarks in Google Adwords or Yahoo. You just need to become a little more creative with how you build your keyword lists and ads. ;) Example: Work with the model number and combine this with some other keywords that would be used in a search phrase (long tail keywords).

Google will stop you from using those keywords if the advertiser complains, or if Google notices it in a general review. Try that too many times, and your account might get disabled or you might get a nice cease and desist letter from NVidia.
