Hello! I just want ask you if Adsense backgrounds (like this: http://adsensebackgroundimages.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=6 or http://adsensebackgrounds.com/index.html) are OK? I think that most of these backgrounds don't break TOS, do they? However, I know that few of this backgrounds are illegal: But I don't see anything wrong in something like this: I am asking about it, because I am creating free software pack for Adsense - AdsenseToolPack (http://tomksoft.iblogger.org/programming/adsensetoolpack-the-idea.html).
They make the ads unduely prominent in my opinion, but there's always conflicting opinion on whether or not they're actually disallowed. I personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. The people who sell them say 'Google have no problem with them', but then again they would say that, wouldn't they? I suggest asking AdSense Support directly about this, but they're bad news and against the TOS in my opinion.
I also agree that backgrounds aren't good on sites for experienced users. However, I think that they should work well on sites for less-experienced. Thanks for response, I'll mail Google
