Yeah, I know of a guy from NJ who pronounces it as "nish" - not neesh. But then, he has successfully marketed his course on the web for 3 years (and is getting close to 7 figures in combined revenue), so, rather than correcting him, when he talks, I just listen, like others
NISH!!! I don't see how you can get that off n-i-c-h-e lol. Next it'll be nack But yes, no biggy as long as you understand the definition!
yeah it's been bastardized something awful neetch, nish, nitch... anyway you can think of and it's been spoken we canadians - we pronounce it the CORRECT way the etymology of the word is from the french verb nichier - pronounced neesh-eee-ay en francais parlez vous francais mon amis? vanessa.
Yeah I agree with that, I when I'm not sure how to pronounce a word, I pronounce it the french way! Et oui je parle le francais, c'est Canada!!!
geez, with all this confusion you'd think they were getting it confused with Nietzsche (which is another fun one to as people to say...) jill, vanessa.
Just check out Dictionary.com: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/niche It can be pronounced as neesh or nitch.
in standard german final e's are shwas - which are neutral vowels that aren't stressed and at the end of words they are usually silent so it would be neetch - or nee-chuh if you prounounce the shwa that's standard german though, and there are different dialects and some would prounounce it nee-chee another case of tomato, tomahto vanessa.
i did not meant the neech, in hindi!! sorry for the late reply, neech means, people who are bad in a way! means low mentality or something!! but then, it deponds on the accents more than anything else!
