It doesn't matter if Vista is good or not, people are going to end up forced to use it in a few years time, just like people were forced to go to 95 instead of stick with 3.11.

Personally, I hate XP and I hate Vista even more, but if you want to play games, use most hardware, or run common applications, the average user doesn't have much choice.

Most games and older applications are not compatible with Vista, so that's a lost. I've yet to get any game in my collection working properly.

Vista runs extremely smoothly, better than XP, on my 1.6GHz dual-core / 1GB of RAM / 256MB video card laptop... so I like it.

It looks much better than XP and has some new enjoyable features and bundled programs. I would never just buy Home Basic though, Premium is the way to go.

    Just my opinion. :)

Windows vista is a bit over the top, it's trying to be like MAC I think. I'm sticking with XP for now.

OK I haven't tried vista yet, so my opinion's kind of bias. Personally I think XP is good enough for me.. that's why I didn't upgrade yet!

I don't feel like not upgrading to Vista would affect my business in any negative way in the near future. And I'm pretty confortable with my PC current configuration.

Besides, I'd rather spend the money on buying an extra 2GB of RAM so I get a total of 4GB to play with :)

Well, I'm a user of Windows Vista and XP... Personally I like Vista if I just want to game or if I want to work seriously. But if I just want to mess up my pc and stuff I use XP... Vista is now not safe enough against spyware, viruses,...

"if it aint broke, don't fix it" Just wait until you buy a new computer, and then get vista pre-installed.

That's exactly what I'm doing as well. I don't think its worth the update when we're just going to upgrade out computers eventually anyways. Just my 2 cents :)

Until everyone is using it, XP is still better....its like saying was 98 better than 95...it was once everyone was using it.

I would suggest sticking with Windows Xp too. Going for Vista will make sense once they release the first service pack:).

XP for me...for now anyway. As ARonald says, once the first service pack is release, Vista will be more appealing.

No doubt Vista is a better OS in terms of features and security compared to XP, but application and hardware compatibility is important too. XP offers the best hardware and software support as of now. Vista still has some rough edges which will get sorted as it matures.

I had vista ages ago, a prerelease copy like august last year. I think it was good but i dislike the see through windows, the transparency sh*t. Too messy.

the rest of the skins were nice though.

...but then again, so is windowsblinds...
