Hostgator now puts ads in cPanel. Is that lame or what ??? Adbrite and Template Monster ads. I mean, I don`t pay hosting to get ads. Damn Hostgator.

I talked to live support there and they said to email with ATTN:BRENT in the subject line. So if you are pissed like me, complain.

i don't use it, but then i dose not gives ads in the site, right?

they can give ads in the control pannel, after all not one pays for the pannel, the control pannel is there property and they can give ads on it.

though no one actually dose, because it is a reputation loss. also makes me feel that no one will host sites there, as it is better to stay out of a loss making site. if they get too much loss and close everything, the publishers may lose there account!!

so anyways, i agree to the post, lame:eek:

I get not only text links, I get images also, big ones. I mean its the thing of getting invaded everywhere you are, its ok when surfing the web, but when working in cpanel much it annoys me a lot. Its my work space.

I think its a great idea to make money for hosting companies.

Though Im pissed because i doubt HG needs the money. BUt still props on the creativity imagine how many webmasters you could target with this.

They have great hosting. I've never had any issues so its fine with me if they ad the ads :) As long as the quality stays the same.

Can't blame them for trying to earn an extra buck - they are well established in the market, they provide great hosting (from what I've read), so a small ad shouldn't phase you as to the quality of their service.

So they put ads in their CPanel. Big deal. Amazing what some people get upset about.

Richie...here's the screen shot you asked for.

Frankly, since I already pay more to host with them than cheaper hosts, I'm not happy about it... it's just obnoxious. At the same time though, webmasters are generally the most ad-blind, so I can't imagine they'd make a huge fortune off of them. Maybe they'll eventually realize their reputation is worth more than a few bucks... you can't buy that back w/ ad revenue if you piss off enough people. I really like hostgator, but this on top of a few pretty significant complaints surfacing lately has me a bit concerned.

Why don't you move it you don't like it?
