If you had $1,000,000 to invest in your own startup business, what type of business would you start, or where would you take your existing business?
With 1 million dollars, I would invest in: 1. Online game 2. Escort agency 3. Payday Loan Service 4. Buy existing websites with lots of traffic and good conversions with adsense/affiliate programs. 5. Invest more in my upcoming book 6. Create a documentary film (use Internet for primary distribution) 7. Robots that can be practical for consumers 8. AI 9. Nanotech 10. Biotech 11. Invest in Google 12. Diversify money in gold and different commodities 13. purchase a fast food restaurants franchise 14. Buy up some real estate since the market is down, then turn around and become a landlord. 15. Build online escort review site 16. Save as much of the 1 million as I can. 17. Attempt to buy rights to Deus Ex computer game from Eidos, who are doing nothing with it....... 18. Since I'm millionaire, audition for The Apprentice so I can get exposure, even if I don't win. 19. Write a book explaining how I got the 1 million. (spread money across multiple accounts to maximize interest gained) 20. Start my own VOIP company. 21. Start my own ISP and make my services affordable to people in Africa and Third World Countries. 22. Fund Congressman Ron Paul's election so he can have more visibility and a better chance at becoming U.S. president. I can't think of anything else at the moment........My goal is basically to take the 1 million and turn it into 1 billion.
tesla, you wouldn't be able to get far with so many things to invest in! That's ~$45K per idea! I'm primarily looking for a company to start when I no longer have to deal with pregnancy complications (which could still be 5 months down the road, so I have plenty of time to think). Thought this thread would be a good way to get some ideas ...
I would ditch my business and buy some convertible securities. So in other words, maybe an online investment firm.
with that money you can get every thing you want in india. so just enjoy your life!! anyways, i always want to start a business out of nothing, that helps me to take the losses easily!!
Unfortunately I'm not from India... Possibly I should move to that country? And I do think I could have a good life anywhere if I had that much money...It's my goal though.

For a million bux I would buy a bunch of cotton candy/funnel cake trailers and park them all over the place. I just think it would be fun...thats all
Hehe, $1 Million is a lot of money, but certainly not nearly enough for someone in their 20s or 30s to retire on in the U.S. Heck, it wouldn't even provide a very good income from interest. The U.S. is EXPENSIVE ... The intent was to find BUSINESS ideas that people would start. Or is everyone here more interested in starting something small and growing it?
