I don't understand how Iran could possibly look good out of this, even if there was some kind of trade. But I do worry sometimes that we'll be so focused on iraq that we let Iran (wich to me is the greater threat) get away with things and before we know it their crazy apocalyptic "president" will have nukes. At least Saddam didn't want to bring about the end of the world. I also fear now that Iraq was a PR disaster for us, we'd have a really hard time stopping Iran by force if we had to.
Believe me, there are some morons who say that Iran's face got better because of this act and I am not talking about people in the street. .
Guys, Iran came out of this smelling of roses. Just look at the pictures of those British troops. I can tell you, they had a far better time in Iran than they could ever have on a boat. It's incredible that they confessed to crossing the line so easily. I mean, some guys spend 3 years of sleepless nights in Gitmo and don't fess up! I thought soldiers were trained not to confess. If they'd been put on trial (unlikely) they wouldn't have stood a chance. I'm glad they got released so soon. Give them another few weeks and they'd have been telling the Iranians the color of the queen's underwear (red, white and blue, BTW). Anyway, this makes it all a lot harder for US and UK extremists to talk about the "evil-Iranians" because we've now seen the human face. It's a PR dream come true.
A video of them pulled out in front of the cameras for how long? Still, I have to admit, this, combined with some pictures of guantanamo bay, has made me want to take a look at what's going on down there more. Maybe that was a part of their goal.
Its not that, the reason to release sailor is to get Media and political support and to become hero in front of iranian people, its just like "bush captured Saddam before Election" or " Osama Video tape release before poll" every politician use this kind of tactics. as far as muslims are concern, they are consider to be the brave bation but Power and technology is not on there side, so they cant fight BAck!
Hero? he is a PUSSY... Alahamajihad is a PUSSY... He looks like a PUSSY, and acts like a PUSSY! Did I mention he is a TERRORIST too? Iran's jihadist scumbag president is anything but brave. I doubt Iranians find hime brave. I can see where Pakis find him brave.. Hell anyone that perpetuates more hatred towards the West is about the closet one can become to a savior, or 70+ Virgins.
I don't have to say much about this, just look at my avatar and you'll understand... Only, the UK ain't bad either, just too many british idiots living there, wit british passports, such as the bombers and some DPers... At the same time the US have their own problems, I really wasn't expecting so many smoked liberals in the country...
Poor muslims have to admire tyrants. They call Iranian nation brave and they ignore that if the Iranian weren't afraid of mullahs agents they would over throw them in less than an hour. Every body studies Iran knows that Iranian specially the young are sick and tired of islamic regulations - to the point of vomiting - They call Bin Ladan a hero while he is killing 100 times more msulims than he kills non-mulims. The call Saddam "Shahid" -= a person who gave his life for Islam - while he had only the support of Sunnies in his country and only 25% of Iraqies are Sunni - at max-. Sometime one feels realy realy pity for muslims. The funny thing is that they contradict themselves. Calling someone "Shahid" while he was the invador of Kuwait - an Islamic country -, started the war with Iran - the brave nation as you said - and killed and turtored thousands of Shiaats, Sunni Kurds and even Suniies opposition. .
The Iranians came out good only in fornt of their own people, and all those that want to believe so. That includes Bush bashers, of course. In fact, reasonable people would understand a lot about hwo unreliable they are just with the way they handles the case, including the mistake in the first statement about the position of the Brits. And now that the hostages are free, they are also free to say what really happened, including some rough treatment. And I wonder if the girl is going to cover her head again after obviously having had to...
If you'd like to set it up, I would be glad to do a Pay Per View UFC fight against him. You have my word on that.
They never confessed, they only said it by going by the Iranian map, the video was shown in a way to make it look like they where confessing, although they never. Also, not all of them were Royal Marines and wouldn't of had much training dealing with hostage situations.
If I remember correctly, din't they say that 'we were in Iranian waters APPARENTLY'? And Iranian guards are probably too dumb to understand the meaning of that...! Anyway, I don't believe it was the right time to be heroes, they just had to do what Iranians wanted them to do and afterwards talk in freedom, which isn't exactly something that youcan expect in some of those countries...
UK/US soldiers enters the waters and lands of Iran all the time. Like Iranian soldiers enter Iraq. They are collecting information. It was just bad luck that the UK soldiers was caught this time. The two governments know this and the negotiations was just a play for the gallery. It was never a chance of a UK-Iranian war. And please, do not say that UK/US soldiers never enter Iranian territory.
Only with the Iranian map which was drawn to show them in Iranian waters, they said if the map was correct then they were in Iranian water, which was shown in a way on TV to make it look like they were confessing.
